  2. Get your self a good head torch I would recommend petzl and it will help. But yes some lights on the machine would not hurt. Maybey some lights on the trailer/van on a switch so you can see easier to load/unload.
  3. Not knowing your customer and your own circumstances. Would a day rate be possible? And give them a estimated number of days that way you shouldn't be out of pocket or break the job in to smaller chunks I.e. Roadside trees will be £..... Leaning trees £..... Other 2 trees £..... Also traffic management for one side of the road could make life easier for the crew.
  4. I used to work I an outdoors shop selling shoes and clothing and we knew what brands were slighty wider for the same size etc and only used the size a a guide of which one is bigger/ smaller to get the right fit for the customer.
  5. Pricing is very specific to you or any other company /sole trader. Different people will different availability of kit different levels of kit. Some will look at a job and think my machine can tackle that easy. Others with out the machine. Will think by eck I need x number of guys on this. Overheads are another thing to think about. Do you have to rent a yard do you have your own place to dispose of arisings. Work out your overheads. Work out what you need to put bk in to the business and what you want for profit. And that is your price.

  12. Tw 230 great machine punching well above its weight. Ours has 160 hours and no problems so far. Blade changes are easy.
  13. Art and science of practical rigging is a very good book. I have not read the other one. the imperial thing can be overcome with a bit of converting and creating a crib sheet of your own then laminating it.

  20. hello all I am looking for a reading list for the level 4 abc award. if anyone has one it would be realty appreciated or could just point me in the right direction. I have got some books just know I need more.
  21. as he is not interested in training you then get out asap. as for what qualification to go for then see what jobs are around your way and what they want

  25. The only thing I don't like about the rock exotica one is the rubber in the attachment holes stops me putting my dmm krabs through and I already have a hitch climber.
