  1. I have PMed - in the OPs hands now!
  2. Battery chainsaws, what will they think of next.....fuel injection perhaps?
  3. I usually also make sure the top end is original Stihl, it will have markings cast in to the bottom of the cylinder and a stamp on the top of the cylinder if original. I still see many nice MS260s floating across my work bench in very good condition so they are out there if you look. If it is in good condition then £200 is reasonable.
  4. 260s are pretty good saws, they get a bit of piston skirt wear with heavy use and then knock a bit but generally pretty robust. Check the bottom of the saw out and check for wear to the underside plus check the plastic covers out. It gives a good indication of the sort of life it has led.
  5. Looks to me that the actuation is similar and it is only the pulling back of the handle/guard that is more difficult. Most 395s I have had in are like this. About all you can do is make sure all the parts are clean and are not worn then grease them on rebuilding.
  6. I know the rough area he posted from the consignment number but it is a major city so no help and don't want to spend hours on it! I get too much if this sort of thing happening and it can take an hour or so trawling through various emails, texts and PMs to find the sender and don't charge. Just pisses me off as there is no excuse. Got no record of this one, must have been a phone call and have no record or recollection of who owns them, must have been some time ago as they arrived when I was away at the time. Guess he will call again sometime!
  7. If family don't see life the way you do and give you toxic or negativity in all they do, box it up, cast it aside and mix with friends or other family that are like you. Going through similar and can't wait for the end of it so I can walk away and be happy again!
  8. One month and still no comms from the owner....very strange?
  9. Just fill the tank up to close to full, take the bar and clutch cover off and leave the saw on a sheet of clean paper to see if it is leaking. Worth trying leaving the saw also on both sides as well just to be sure.
  10. Revs will drop in the cut, it is inevitable as the saw will be under load that is dictated by the bar length, kerf, pitch cutter type, sharpness and the pressure exerted on the saw etc. The revs will drop to near where the power band is and tend to hold there unless you take off a bit of downward pressure. Obviously, if you fit a short bar on a big machine or modify the saw, the relationship changes a fair bit. Most saws seem to make full power at around 9500rpm as listed in the saws specs.
  11. L&S now do Husqvarna parts as well as Makita and Stihl. They don't hold big stock of Husky parts but do get them in pretty quick!
  12. Looks pretty clean to me. Reed valves usually mean lower high revs but more torque. Dolmar used them on their 6100 - a different sort of strato engine!
  13. The best act I remember, for some reason, was a group of buxom wenches doing some sort of milking pumping action with some sort of cream maker. I believe it was Poland in 2014....best act since Lordi! Just found it -
  14. The whole thing is a farce now and I don't see why the BBC are one of the main backers of what has become an ex eastern block love fest. All it shows is that everyone hates the Brits but everyone wants to be here to earn our GBP! How Australia and Israel are deemed to be Europe defies me.
  15. L&S and GHS are pretty reliable and Tesgol on ebay is a decent bloke!
  16. Growing in the lawn, had that shot leaf thing a few years ago but seemed much better lately. Will probably just leave it and see how it goes as a load of mulch will mess up the vista
  17. Not really what I wanted to hear, only a small tree so will let it get on with it and will see what gives. Have chopped the dodgy bits off for now and will see what happens. Cheers.
  18. Had a couple of boughs drop off my ornamental plum tree over the last two years. I have noticed this growth on the effected branches - what is the prognosis?
  19. Still no news, no idea of whom the owner is, now pushed to the back off the queue!
  20. Like I said at the beginning of this thread, these saws do suffer from leaks in a couple of areas and pressure/vac testing is important to ensure trouble free running. The saw also is "Fragile" to not having the clutch drum and bearing replaced in a timely manner and have written off a few due to shot crank bearing surfaces. They are great saws but do require a bit of maintenance, something that appears to be lacking on a lot of saws I see.
  21. Anyone want to purchase a MS361 and another saw thrown in free of charge???
  22. That's why I didn't say what the second saw was or describe the box!!! Think I will leave it where it is and wait for the call.
  23. Fat lot of good you lot are
  24. I have had a box arrive with a MS361 and another saw in it. No return address, no indication of work to be done, no mobile, no email, no address on the box bar mine In short, I have no idea whose saws these are and why they have been sent in. I am amazed....yet again as it has happened before but have found an email, text etc to verify who it was sent by but this time....squat, nothing at all, no trail of texts or emails......so, who the flippin heck sent it in????????
