    EN Standard Bio-diesel should be fine. Most fuel filters will need more cleaning than with normal diesel but the engine should run better/cleaner.

    Thanks for the interest. The product does not wear out for a long time. (Several long seasons) It is very simple to install with a special tool and a cordless drill/airline drill. The main swedish website is Snökedjor, Skruvdubb, Slirskydd, Snökedja & Isdubb/isdubbar | MaxiGrip where there is basic info and a video showing installation. I have a PDF and prices if folks PM an E-mail address. (100 PM,s max I think:001_rolleyes:) Not sure how to load pics on the forum but will have a go. Basic Price is:- 25 of HM11's including tool is £17.65 + Postage and VAT 100 of HM11's " " " £55.88 " " " 200 of HM15's 114.71 Should be around 50 studs in each 7.50 x 16 Land Rover tyre and 100 in tractor treads. Boots between 24 and 33 depending on use.

    We decided last season to wholesale Tungsten-Carbide Removable Boots/Tyre Studs in the UK and Ireland as a side line because of experience in the woods with the standard non removable mild steel studs which became worn out in no time at all. The current weather is making business life difficult for those even with 4x4's so if you would like more info I can post here and I am placing a large bulk order on Friday to Sweden. (We have had two sets of HM 11's in chainsaw/work boots since September last year with no wear at all) Some HM30 and HM15 are being used in Scotland on large tractors/Land Rovers involved with snow clearance.

    Huge amounts of snow now!! Covering the logs as fast as splitting them. Numerous local main roads have been closed with unsuitable vehicles being dumped through no traction. More snow due the next few days. I heard it could be down to -26C in Scotland on Friday evening.

    I did in the teens when working on farms. Horrible white plastic and chipboard. Always damp inside with rubbish insulation and no head room. A modern version of a traditional shepherds hut in larch with sheeps wools insulation and a wood stove is nice but expensive unless homemade.

    We have some in Derbyshire now was -12C last night. More due in the East Midlands overnight and through the morning it said. Some small rural roads are very frozen now. At least it is not raining!!

    There is a German make which takes woodchips/sawdust and logs and needs filling once a week. Will try and find the info and post here. Having seen numerous issues with woodchip systems (expensive/complex system/fuel problems) I would not have a "Chips" only system to keep warm with.

    A good heavy duty battery to start with. (I assume engine oil and fuel filters are new for the winter season) Some mogs have the old style glow plugs and the mercedes cold start fluid unit. Does the fuel tank have "Winter" grade diesel? The vehicle we have starts at -12C in around 6 seconds.

    I am concerned to see the amount of decent folks on the forum who seem to have trouble with thefts of tools so spoke to the local Police this afternoon. All areas should have a business crime prevention person who will visit for free and advise on issues. (Some areas also have grants:thumbup1:) Look at Datatag of all items including chainsaws/Smart Grease/Covert CCTV/Steel bollards in drive entrances.     Hope this info helps having much experience driving various vehicles in winter conditions including in the Norwegian mountains. Small Vehicles/Vans/4x4's:- Nokian WRC Cargo Hakkapeliitta LT Vredestein Snow+ (Classic) Vredestein Snotrac 2 and 3 Conti Winter Contact TS 830 Cooper Discoverer M+S Trucks:- Nokian Truck E Nokian Noktop 41 Stud Bandag GP Bandag BDR-W Conti HDW Conti MIL Tractors including Unimogs are difficult to find tyres for but worth looking at the Nokian TRI and TRI2 and MPT Agile. Snow tyres must be the same on each axle and should be on all wheels. Vans and trucks will need the load versions. Some can have studs installed at the place of production.

    In Saudi Arabia on the first conviction of stealing a hand is taken off, on the second a foot, on the third the persons head. (Crime is low there unlike in the UK) Worth seeing if the local council have CCTV.

    I am more concerned with folks that owe me cash. The local "Water Board" takes several months to pay up for tree work and when we complain are told I assume you would like more work? With firewood supplies payment is instant.

    Machine Mart (Kamasa Mini Meter Code 010915961) Price £16.99 + VAT. It even has a temp reading! I have one and it great for firewood and saw planks.

    Most GRP Panels have a solid multi layers plyboard inside!! (GRP on each side of the wooden board) so the weight is often more than with kiln seasoned Spruce/Pitch Pine. Look at weights of standard 8' x 4' boards at somewhere like a DIY store/sawmill. If GRP is damaged then water/frost will expand the boards. A commercial truck breakers is a fine place to source good used boards at a sensible price.

    Have you considered using Spruce/Pitch Pine boards like on the old Unimogs? (U600-U421). Strong and will allow some flex without breaking and looks much nicer than plastic.

    There used to be a showroom display area of turned products in Millers Dale near Tideswell in Derbyshire I think owned by Crafts Supplies. Well worth a visit.

    Seen a brand new one being used. VERY SLOW. Ram does not allow full splitting unless wood cut into exact sizes. Would be more suitable/cost effective to use a large sledge and twisted Husqvarna wedges.

    Sorry to state this but there are a lot of con people around from Africa and based in London. (We had difficult experiences with several in the last 12 months which were reported to the police and auto trader fraud office but none were able to obtain monies or equipment from us) Who on earth would purchase an expensive item like a woodchipper without viewing at all? The additional concern is using a so called shipping agent. Most people would tow away with their own vehicle and pay in hard earned cash/bankers cheque. Have you spoken to him on the phone? I agree with some of the above comments regarding safe viewing of the item and where!!!! (Make sure you know who is arriving before and where they live and have a decent lock on the wheel/hitch).

    Looking out the office window at the rain (Monday's office time) I wanted to know if anyone had used a mobile welfare unit and how it compared with a standard large cross frame tool box for secure storage/drying work clothes. We are often miles away with little decent shelter at lunchtimes/mending tools and canvas tarps not always suitable even with a wood stove.
