  1. Ok - we have a good supplier nearby but in Essex - Poulton Portables in Danbury. would imagine you can find someone closer 👍
  2. Where are you located?
  3. Metal ones are pretty flimsy and a pain to put up - definitely a two person job. have done a few. Condensation is a problem, and I put a 2” raised concrete floor inside one to prevent water ingress under the sides. Personally I’d go high quality wood, not B&Q type. Proper heavy duty felt on the roof too. I’ve put loads up over the years and you really do get what you pay for - treated properly from the start and looked after, decent ones will outlast me!
  4. Seasick Steve 👍

Have you driven one? I had one for a short while when my Daily was off the road and absolutely hated it! Some people love them and they’re good for tight access areas, great turning circle etc, but I just couldn’t get on with the discomfort, lack of storage space, the unstable ride
  6. Budget?
  7. Morning all - rather wet day here away in the caravan on Mersea Island. Dogs been walked early by the beach so he’s a happy boy 🐕
  8. Morning all - been wet overnight, now drying out nicely. Just about to leave for a long weekend in a friends touring caravan - 5 days of not dealing with customers as the signal is very poor where we’re off to 👍
  9. Bodge it and leg it back to the caravan! Not your responsibility to move any of the waste - I’d tell your neighbour to do one and move it himself or call his “contractors” back to do it.
  10. If there’s only Fosters or Budweiser available I’m on soft drinks- cannot abide either of them 🤮
  11. Love the Erdinger Dunkel - I’m more into dark beers in general, though a decent Pilsener on a hot day…. 👍
  12. Won’t do it any harm done in the colder months but it will look quite unbalanced
  13. Morning all - dry so far, rain coming in this afternoon ☹️ about a dozen stumps to do at two different sites- hopefully finish before we get wet 👍
  14. Not always easy to successfully reduce these - I’d take at least 30% off the height, trim the sides gently. I have run wire round inside and tied tightly to stop the boughs falling outwards in the wind. A few grew back very neat and tidy and I kept them in good shape for several years
  15. Good to see you back Stefan - missed your informative and inspiring posts 👍
  16. Customer has asked me if I know anyone covering the Ilford area that could remove what they call is a large oak. It’s out of my area so said I’d at least ask here. Haven’t seen any pics
  17. Unless there’s a decent lorry load to collect it wouldn’t be worth a firms time and costs to transport a single tree. Would also need to be roadside with easy access and machinery to load it in lengths. If someone local with a use for it could collect you may get lucky. It’s also not the greatest firewood but you may be able to offload it via Facebook sales, gumtree etc to recoup some costs
  18. Haix protector pro here - but I don’t climb much these days leaving that to the younger fitter guys.
  19. Trouble is that everyone’s feet are different so what suits one will not suit another. I’ve got really wide feet and have real problem getting any type of footwear that fits properly so rarely buy online. Others have standard feet and can easily get them to fit comfortably
  20. I had the Portek kinetic one and hated it so sold it on. Very hard on the wrists and hands. Currently have a Clarke 5.5 ton vertical which is ok but slow. Tend to favour the fiskars x25/27 most of the time but it’s hard manual work and not viable for big quantities
  21. Trouble is working on it yourself or a mechanic doing it could void any warranty
  22. At four hours use I’d be taking it back to the supplying dealer unless there’s an obvious foreign obstruction?
  23. A mate of mine, ex forces is 83 and will lose his winter fuel payment. Only just over the pension credit threshold but lives in a privately rented studio flat. The rent hasn’t increased in 11 years thankfully but in all those years the only time the gas central heating has been on has been when the engineer services the boiler. No double glazing, solid brick walls - so cold in the winter but he’s a stubborn old git! I’ve already told him I’ll give him the lost fuel payment if he turns the heating on low at least 👍
  24. The trap man on eBay has some good quality stuff 👍
  25. If you modify it yourself it’ll need checking by a suitably qualified workshop to sign off the build before some companies will quote. Found this when I did my previous truck body. Only NFU specified this but I’m sure others will as well
