Hello, The builders used an excavator to dig out a tree base and left it on site. It's pretty big and compacted with earth. It's essentially a huge mass of pulled trunks and roots on its side. I want to break it up so that I can put it on a trailer or in a van to take away. So far, we have tried most things. Digging the earth out. Chainsaw bits off. But it's like chipping bits off a rock. Have you ever tackled anything like this, and if so, what would you recommend? Thanks

Evening all, I have looked at a few trees in Marlborough and was thinking of getting in either a harvester or an excavator with a grab (big-ish that will weigh 20t and lift 2t) Can someone quote me for a days work with machine and driver. It would be pollarding 6 willows and either stacking them or putting them on a fire, there is very good access for large machinery, or if anyone has any other ideas that would be appreciated. Cheers Moosie

Hello All, Looking for some advice on what to do with root balls; we are increasingly being asked to remove root balls from sites following felling operations. I have used a few muck away services but they are charging mega money and I'm sure there must be a more cost (greener) effective way. Bit of background we are a ecological contracting company who are increasingly being asked to clear vegetation from sites, ahead of housing developments and are looking for more economic ways of disposing of chipping, large diameter trunks and limbs. Happy for any advice, connections people may have. cheers,
