  1. Yes, not a Sarp one thats for sure!
  2. I have a couple of customers take 7 inch logs and I now have them trained to give me plenty of notice to cut them. One customer is one of my very first customers I took on and the first year he had two loads of standard 10 inch logs. The second year he asked if I could cut them shorter. When I asked what he did the first year with the long ones he said he put the logs in as far as they would go and then just kept pushing them in as they burnt down!!
  3. I did my Ranger over August Bank Holiday weekend. Used a cup brush on angle grinder to clean the chassis of all flaky paint and rust. I had ordered products from a company called Bilt Hammer - primer is 90% zinc rich and the top coat is two pack epoxy black. All done on my drive way - pleased with the results. Have just had to fit near rear springs as well!!
  4. 2015 Off-Road Expo | Off Road Action
  5. That's really informative Eddy, thank you very much.
  6. Ah right, so the numbers on the sticker on the hand guard have nothing to do with it? I will dig deeper tree beard, thank you.
  7. So if I'm picking this up right, 116 people have read my post, 1 has replied (thank you Richard), but nobody has provided an answer - so how stupid would all 117 of us look if our gear was stolen and we were asked for the serial numbers by the police and insurance company????
  8. So which is the serial number on Stihl products??? The long number usually under the year, ie 97/68SH3 11A etc etc or the number at the right hand side of the sticker going from bottom right to top right corner, 1121 967 330 etc????
  9. That seems a high price Windy Trick!! Price seems to vary regionally and how many cube you get per ton varies from person to person. I work on roughly 1.5 cube per ton, I know some reckon 2 cube per ton. Ask 5 people and you'll get 5 different answers!
  10. Ha ha ha, just read this Jon and burst out laughing - it won't be quiet when you get there mate!!!! Northumberland is a beautiful county and has coast as well as country. I would certainly recommend a visit to the coastline - Seahouses, Bamburgh beach (one of the best in the world), Beadnell, Alnmouth - they're all beautiful places.
  11. How old are you looking?? "4x4 Magazine" usually do a pick up test in Feb or March and has tables comparing bhp, torque, towing, load capacity etc
  12. Thanks for the comments guys. It was very evocative Paul, I think Spitfires are very ethereal, like they are not man made, so graceful and elegant. So I feel privileged to have seen so many in one place.
  13. Attended the Battle of Britain airshow at Duxford on Sunday and it was fantastic. Great flying displays, started with three Messerschimitts flying low over the field, the alarm bell ringing and a couple of Spits and a Hurricane taking to the sky to see them off!!! Some fabulous old planes flying including Harvards, B17 Flying Fortress and a Chinook doing things you would not think possible. Towards the end 18 Spits and Hurricanes did a mass scramble, they reckon it was the biggest collection taking off since the war. They put on a fabulous display to a very appreciative crown. The Red Arrows started their display by flying in a up turned V formation over the Battle of Britain Flights Spitfires and Hurricanes as a tribute. Here are a few pictures which I hope you enjoy!
  14. Wonder if any one can help. A new customer rang me yesterday enquiring about the Swedish candles I have on my web site. Only problem is I am in Newcastle and he is in Harrogate! He is interested in 4 candles a metre tall and needs them by October 5. If any one can provide them in the Harrogate area please PM me and I will pass you his details.
  15. Series 1 Land Rover restoration sitting behind it!!
  16. I think the people who buy this gear from Aldi are wood burner owners who have no intention of buying wood. You see them at the side of the road collecting branches etc so I don't think it will effect sales.
  17. TCD is that a BV202?
  18. If it is a large ash tree, it isn't going to go through a processor. Better off ringing it up and splitting on a log splitter or with a decent axe.
  19. Enjoy Paul!!! https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?rs=ac&len=2&q=1976+chevy+blazer&term_meta%5B%5D=1976%7Cautocomplete%7C0&term_meta%5B%5D=chevy%7Cautocomplete%7C0&term_meta%5B%5D=blazer%7Cautocomplete%7C0
  20. Paid 70p a litre at a garage this morning Jon.
  21. I think you misinterpreted my post - I didn't cut it, she paid a tree surgeon!
  22. My mum asked for the new growth on her eucalyptus to be reduced ....... and got this!
  23. It should be the other way around - the Ranger up to I think 2008 or 9 was the Mazda just rebadged so their specifications should be the same.
  24. Search ex mod dealers as they sometimes have heavy duty stillages
  25. There was a farmer in LRO magazine years ago converted a TDi Discovery in to a truck cab pick up with a 5th wheel in the bed to tow his cattle trailer. Again it looked really good.
