  2. There is a lot of timewasters out there hodge, but take the rough with the smooth, maybe a lucky exit and they may have knocked you on completion of work or took a while to pay maybe..... at least they rang you though so you can re arrange things.... if necessary, have the day off, and relax
  3. I'm a post 97 lad My iveco is a 3.5t tipper and its gtw is 6000kg. All i have to tow really is a timberwolf 150 which timber wolf states is 737kg or 748kg..... so i'm ok to to this i think.... With the post 97 licence does that mean i can only tow it and not have a load on the back as that will take me over the gvw? I hate seeing these threads appear, as people say one thing then the other.... and you don't know who to listen too.... should i just say bugger it and go book my trailer test B+E? and forget about this SILLY topic once and for all?
  4. is it dismantling? pruning? and whats the wage for the day? cheers
  5. Can you give me some examples so i understand what you mean? Cheers
  6. ok was just looking to see if they would warrent a piston each at some point to keep them going One of the 200t's when i bought it came with a 12" bar on it, but the bar groove seem's to wide on it and the chain seems to "rock" a lot side to side on that bar even when correctly tensioned. What would have caused it to do that? I've put a different bar on it now, so is the other scrap? Cheers
  7. How much did you get sorted for for the day with operator? And the person would just come with the chipper and chip, you'd sort the truck or where to chip to? Cheers Chris
  8. That sounds awfull Hope he recovers ok. All the risks for 100-150 a day don't seem worth it when something like this pops up
  9. Checked my 200t's the other week for compression, one was 148-150 psi and the other 155-160 psi.... Are these figures ok? or is the first one a little low? cheers
  10. Don't get me wrong, i don't have loads of money, but when i looked into buying a leaf blower, for me as it is used on every job i bought a brand new one.... a stihl bg86 hand held, it was only 221 inc vat from jonesies. £221-00 for a blower that gets used on every job, everyday and will last a long time is peanuts imo, and not worth even considering 2nd hand at that price. I'm sure others would agree. If you cannot afford this then look at other makes that the sites on the right hand side of the page sell as there will be some good deals to have Good luck
  11. Haha, i was the same at the start, didn't want to use it lol. Now everything gets thrown into action straight away to get your money's worth out of it Also i'm not a shiny gadget man either.... just to clear that up
  12. anything from 180 to 250 ish i would have thought
  13. I'm tight and don't like the initial outlay i know what you mean though, you've had 3 years out of the tyres then pay out for some good ones and they'll last you well
  14. yeah thats going to be pricey
  15. 1.2 euro or maybe even 1.1 euro to a pound isn't it now?? conversion when cashing in...
  16. ahhh, that clears that up then CHeers:thumbup:
  17. My 3.5t iveco has a train weight of 6 ton if it weights 2.5 ton, add a trailer at 500kg, then it can tow 3 ton or 2.5 ton + 750kg trailer = 3.25 ton can tow 2.75 ton Think thats ok
  18. i've gone down to subbing to one company... but theyre short of work, and say monday, then no tuesday, then no wednesday etc..... getting on my wick as i cannot plan for anything
  19. 90 % of my work is subbing
  20. Hi there, i'm looking for some climbing/cutting/grounding work in lancashire or yorkshire. Subby basis I hold cs30-31-32-38-39-40-41-45, also have my cscs card. 21. where is the majority of your work based??
  22. i've a whoopie sling, stein 2000. a 16mm pulley with a 16mm dead eye, a smaller pulley with slings etc and a old climbing rope at the moment.... not been putting big lumps on it though..... if i went 16mm i'd have to upgrade to a 19mm dead eye. i think 14mm may suffice but know 16mm would be the way forwards...... hmmmm
