    I don't know what it is but my older 201t 2012 and 2011 no issues .... I have a 2016 or 18 201tcm and that sod is always stiff and bunging up on the chain brake internals. Crap saw the newer one.... I went back to the 2012 model couple of years back, newer one is a backup and paperweight

    I got to a stage where I looked at everything. I was and am usually always busy. But when you expand you need bigger yard space, more trucks, more guys and most of all more work. Then it's quality control of said work. Then I wondered just how much extra I would be earning for all that stress..... I figured in the end I was happy as I was which is a horrible thing to admit when the sky is the limit. But it's a sensible decision and I'm happy where I am. Chasing figures and having to hit constant targets just shortens your lifespan and induces un necessary stress in my mind.

    No not at all... I see where your coming from. I think it will be miles different north south divide.... I do wonder though if your running Costs / outgoings are one of the main issues for you here. I bet your near burnt out and stressed to F. Have you peaked? Grown to an unsustainable level? Or need more admin staff? I'm sure there's something that would ease some burden for you to drum up more business or fine tune other areas.

    This is all great but more teams more hassle. Didn't you say recently its touch and go bar one contract Clutchy? Hardly a dead cert that 90k a year then. Smaller companies less staff it's easier to keep hitting constant targets. Work flow is key to all sizes

    You can get a diamond disc to do yourself or a setup for the green teeth. Depending where you get your greenteeth from they are cheap as chips so when done I'd throw them away(3-4.00 each) Used yellow jackets I can tickle up and put on a higher hp machine to still make brass . (7.50 each) Being a tight arse myself I've been sharpening my multi tip teeth and got a good while out of them due to 14.00 a tooth plus vat. Good value for money though and done a lot of stumps. Swapped them out today after a job with a lot of stone

    One thing I have always wanted is a small samd blast kit but have always had to settle for angle grinder and wire wheel. Still makes a good job. The finish is in the prep and make sure you wipe all surfaces down with panel wipe etc before painting

    Bloody hell.... not worth it in my eyes then. No offence and old 2k machine then 1k to paint then > 500 quid for maybe other bits makes an expensive old machine. Doubt you see your money back. Make sure it runs right and use it to earn brass..... if happy you can always paint it yourself. Had plenty of good finishes with a roller and brush over the years 👍

    Spot on. Looks mean nothing really. I ran a vermeer sc252 for 8 years I paid 2800 for and had to do a bit of work. That thing has paid for itself time and time again. It's been retired now as I went for a tracked machine. But when I sell it I hope I can find someone to get as much enjoyment and brass out of it as I did! On another note. There's a lot of firms out there going out with mega fancy kit for buttons and I don't really know how they can make it work.... More bang for your buck with good second hand in my opinion

    Never employ anyone on the books again me..... no horror stories but never again. Took too many days holiday, all pretty provided, training, pension etc and still handed notice in as work was too much. As above says being fair and looking after folk can lead to being taken advantage of. OK if your business is WOKE 👍

    Even so they are easy and bread and butter.... people usually have certain spare money they're willing to spend happily without considering or speaking to a partner as they would with a 5-700 quid job and that's when it's 3 quotes and miss out on it by 50 quid scenario 3 easy jobs is better than one hard one 😉

    Quiet where we are in all fairness. I've priced a few big jobs recently but there's one company scooping them up for peanuts. Must be sign of the times but generally that's how they roll.... You would always think the 2-300 quid jobs would be dead certain to get but some folk holding back still

    Thank you. As I couldn't see a date on conditions and no tpo no con area I'd like to go and crak on and fell the ugly ducklings in next couple of weeks. Still a nice oak to keep, strip ivy and selective reduce Cheers Chris

    I've seen an old 440mx or something like that but it's old and rusty but so is the price in fairness

    Anyone else know what other machines out there are worth a look? Still having issues with mine after throwing plenty of brass at it. All I can see so far are a lot of older nearly 20 year old bandits for 20k or so then a big jump up to 38k and then 50k plus. Anyone know of another brand to try or model?

    I run a 2m3 bucket on an older jcb 527-58.... that bucket in the pile can make the back end buck a bit lol (very long in the bottom) good bucket though. I may bang some antifreeze and water in the back tyres though next.

    Correct and for me it's about filling the other side and paying it down and all sorts.... 6m only just works but more is better
