Doesnit have to be a finger grab?

    Grab

One way is to get a head stock that has 2 sets of pins...... for example look at the jb equipment site on their grab..... undo at your quick hitch, move grab 90 degrees and use quick hitch pick it back up again. Be careful on grab weights! I put a grab and rotator on a 1.8t machine then sold the machine as it couldn't handle it.
  4. I often do that also. Tell them catch local farmer for these shitty mixed hedges road side or side of a field. Massive saving to customers and more pleasurable me not doing it 😎
  5. Bang on.... 4 foot even better! Sounds a shite job....
  6. I thought or was informed they were.... hmmm not sure now
  7. Yup something similar on a bandit chipper here with a small drip on roller motor seal. Seal kits gonenupnto 250 quid plus vat 😬 just keep sticking the tray under at the moment till I decide what I'm doing
  8. A first and a funny one I had this last year was someone owed me short of 300 quid for a small job.... started paying in dribs and drabbs! So a 300 quid job from start of Nov lastly year still owes 100 quid 😮 Some folk will be majorly struggling. I just can't understand why my customer above even bothered getting me to do the works if they couldn't afford it
  9. That is true but it still amazes me when you go to look at a job and they start reeling a list off..... I want this and this and this and that and that aswell and ohh yes cut all that up whilst here for firewood and do this and that and this and that..... And im thinking ffs, slow down and suggest maybe doing stuff in stages..... But nope, send a quote through and those that wanted the world on a plate suddenly go all quiet 🤫🙃
  10. It's good of you to be forwards and honest with this info. The way I see it though is that's a hell of a wage bill..... and running costs. Can you not cut back somewhere with out compromise part of the business. If I stood back and looked at the figures though.... 24k running costs, you must technically be turning over a hell of a lot of brass and I would hope be earning a good lot of brass for yourself. If so I'd like to think your taking 60k a year easily Because in all fairness the chap in your example at 40k will have a hell of a lot less wages and running costs. Most likely finish early and goes to the pub more 😀 I know which model.of business I would prefer. Also to note a lot of tree folk seem only to look in one direction and that's just tree work, never think of other forms of income to compliment tree work brass. Eg, stocks and shares, property etc Hope you can keep it going. I know around near me it's gone quiet, but not overly worried. Also that the council work, people are just going in to cover wages so I leave them to that
  11. Old thread but I think it was due to the auto grind function, didn't like the look of the machine.... also they were 14k when they came out and then sky is now the limit on price..... Funnily enough I ended up with a predator 26/28 in the end, various track base, deep grind, built in uk and can get petrol or diesel version and even remote control
  12. 14k it was up for Your miles out monkey, need to go Rob another bank or two first 🤔 😀
  13. If you put a (realistic) price up I'm sure it will sell but guessing games get folk no where Seem a lot of used landys 8-10k
  14. Just waiting for that one pigeon to piss on your chips there Bob 🙄 bastard things
  15. How is everyone finding parts availability at the moment? Still pretty shocking I think considering we are past corvid. I've had good experiences with a few firms, Kubota is easy enough to get things for, vermeer has always been good and Greenmech has been awesome. Predator has been good. Bloody yanks ( I know vermeer are) seem bloody useless... I still think they are asleep.... have to wait weeks for parts if not months and then prices are just shooting up. Currently run a old bandit and like it, but not sure if I want to buy another due to parts How do folk get on running these bandits when going for parts etc? How have others got on with other manufacturors?
  16. I run one, had it for over 7 years now very reliable. I do often think about changing it but everything's dpf and regen nowadays. Does all I need it to
  17. There was a arb firm also that is arb approved that a lad felled a tree ****************ed up and paralysed himself.... wonder how that was commented on in the risk ass and method statement. Don't forget arb ass did nowt for the 2 rope job and probability still haven't a clue which colour diesel to use 🤔 Also I remember asking ages ago to the Aa... are your assessors nptc qualified assessors..... No they are not. So who the hell are they to say about work practices etc if they don't know the criteria we passed with via nptc to say we see doing it correctly or not? Then the firms bombing around with their logo on their vans but not an actually AA contractor lol 😆 it's a joke
  18. Seen a few of these for sale at very handy money. Been really tempted to get one to do me whilst having my bandit sorted. Really happy with the safetrac I got off you 18month or so ago 👍 😎
  19. I bought a predator 26/28 last year and been using that. Then bought a big road tow grinder for fun and big stumps 😀 beast
  20. Great machines are the 252.... I ran mine for years and its done all sorts for me. Time for it to find a new home after April 6th though 😆 I've moved on a little now to a diesel machine
  21. Just looked at one this morning. Be glad to see it through the chipper if we get it 😆
