  1. Clearly some of us do a lot more cutting than others. You dumb ass just joining in a conversation with our reading all the facts. We do forestry work as well and I like a sharp chain. Some of these dumb replies say more about some of the idiots in this profession. Explains why a lot of you are on £140 a day. And for the record £220 a day for me now or iam not out fully booked for the next month good luck to all the smart arses keyboard gangsters. Going by arb job vacancies you better start paying more or doing more your self!! 🤩🫣😆😵🤯👍💪💰😵‍💫
  2. Keep sling that shit, shit slingers. Big block of green cheese here for you. Clearly don’t value your self or your workers. Exactly what’s wrong with the industry. Time to wipe my arse will pop back in later when I go again. And love the low level no brain comments do make me laugh 😆 Thanks 🙏
  3. Glad your not my accountant. 200x 5 £1000 1000x4 £4000 4000x12 £48000 that’s working one year 5 days a week no holidays no sick pay. So top line as long as you don’t want a holiday and don’t get injured or sick. Best case scenario!!!! Then deduct 5litrs of petrol 3 litres of oil per day. Then supply ppe trousers £200?? Helmet £180?? Boots £200?? One chain a week ?? £30. Files gloves!!! Oh how did I forget chainsaws climbing kit rigging kit!! What you left with ????? A professional working like an athlete well some of us anyway going by the terrible follow up comments. This topic comments makes great toilet reading
  4. Where did £100 grand of kit come into a subcontract day rate?? Like Chinese whispers on here. For the record I supply climbing kit and saws. Everything else comes at extra cost. Not here for a lesson from half wits in business. But keep it coming warriors. And this hole post was not about me. It’s about what’s supplied and expected of a suby for dog shit wages. A lot of noses out of joint on this subject. LOVE IT 🥰
  5. That’s what iam doing so no need for your advice thanks. I just feel for others in the industry who don’t have that luxury. How can they survive on buttons with all the overheads?? And ye no brain surgeon but do have half a brain so I know when to move on. This subject seems to be going clean over people’s heads. Could you survive on those rates?? With no job security?? Clearly a lot of the commenters don’t value there skills and work ethic. But guess it’s mainly brain dead peeps who are writing so much crap. Really need to stop replying to these posts places to be and things to do 😮‍💨
  6. Check all the keyboard warriors. Don’t worry guys over £100,000 worth of kit will be on eBay soon fill your boots. My names Shug not Mug. Had already made my mind up just posted to see how others in the industry feel. I know plenty guys who agree with me. The industry not to mention the country is knackered. Time to invest my money and energy elsewhere. Stay safe
  7. Will leave topic open but nothing else to say. I know what I will be doing. Will say very surprised how many chose to read a topic about being over worked and under payed. Guess you all feel the same 😎
  8. Totally understand this but as topic is head lined “ over worked and under payed”. What’s so hard to understand?? Just venting my frustration. Not trying to make a fortune or be rich but to make a living wage in this industry these days seems impossible as a subcontractor. Average pay here is £180 to £220 a day for a component climber/ forestry worker. I do both. Green guy £120 to £140 a day. There not a lot between them in wages but miles in experience and kit. Yes free market but you will never be free on money like that.
  9. Yes think we have already established that?? Not sure what your words of wisdom are meant to mean?? Maybe in London £360 a day?? I don’t know any suby getting £360 a day for rolling up with ppe and all the experience in the world unless there working for people not in the industry!! And even then they normally have to provide kit!! Which also has been established as costing fortunes. How are you guys meant to move forward in the industry if there not making enough to live ?? This topic seems to being clean over some peoples heads. The industry pay is all wrong
  10. Unfortunately rates are the rates hence why I started this conversation!! I get payed the higher end of what contractors are getting up here. What do you get payed or pay ??
  11. Ex para my self mate served my time and was payed dog shit wages. But at least there was perks. Enjoy the job but not working for next to nothing for some greedy bugger wanting all my kit and experience so they can pay pennies more than someone on the books. I think a subcontractor supplying kit and experience should be on £300 a day. Shock horror from you?? Look at building sites my mate 4 and a half days a week brick layer with a £10 trowel £80,000 a year so ye I think we’re over worked and under paid
  12. Mick what’s your profession?? Mick going by that photo of you and that poor dog guess your profession is bestiality?? 🤯 haha your killing me with your brain dead answers please stop and leave the bloody dog alone
  13. You can play with Micks balls so you won’t miss out
