1. Used a 3120 twice and 66 once. I wouldn't want to climb the tree with it if at all possible, get it sent up! After that it's just a big saw.
 2. I have the alveo, it is a noticeable amount lighter than the vertex, however the plastic doesn't feel as sturdy. Will be replacing with either a vertex or a stein when time comes.
 3. Another ammo box lover here...
 4. I rarely use the visor, usely use safety glasses instead. I like Bolle Tracker ones, a pair of sunglass type for the summer and an amber pair for darker days. Whatever you get, I find if you wash them once a week with fairy liquid it stops them steaming up on all but the steamiest of days, as well as keeping them clean.
 5. Bump... Still looking if anyone has any please
 6. I haven't tried it myself, but I believe it is so you can choke it round stem by clipping carabiner into thimvle on prussik, then use it single line therefore doubling effective length of lanyard (if this is wrong please correct me someone!)
 7. I've never used a caritool, I've got a couple of rather old clog karabiners that I inherited from somewhere that work perfectly for clipping a saw up with. (I still use an old 3 way as main attachment for saw) They seem pretty cheap... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181484847671&alt=web
 8. Where in Gloucestershire mate?

Hi John

Just a quick question re Glastonbury - girlfriend has been going for years, I've never been, wanted to get in this year with a friend who does some sort of building works but was let down at the last minute (this morning!)

I know its almost definitely too late for this year, but if you are likely to need a hand in exchange for ticket this or next year I'd be very interested! Climber with 3 years experience, cs30,31,38,39 woodchopper ua1 first aid etc... Also own kit, landy tipper.

Thank you

 11. This one is 12.5mm and comes in a 4m length if that's any help... Flex-Fly Sidewinder - Lanyards - Ropes
 12. Hi all, I fancy putting another attachment point on my bridge - problem is, I have a weaver harness and so can't just add a ring. Anyone know if one of the triangular shaped mallions will fit OK across the webbing, and which size I would need? Cheers Joe
 13. Looks like some sort of elm to me, not sure exactly which one though?
 14. Failing that, any of the ones you mentioned will work fine for slack tending lanyard
 15. I have a hitch climber on my main line as talked about on other thread, and a Stein Skywalker on my lanyard - this acts as a normal slack tending pulley when on side D's, but gives the option to use it as a short line off bridge or 3rd hitch climber hole!
 16. Anyone going back to Norfolk on Saturday who would be able to take a strimmer for another member please? Many thanks
 17. Being too close to the wall will wear down any line pretty quickly IME. You can get thicker line for bump feed heads, I forget what diameter but the Stihl stuff is yellow and round... Alternatively, you can get an Oregon Jet Feed head which takes very thick line that lasts longer around walls etc - however due to the line being thicker, you don't get such a nice finish to the cut in general.
 18. Why does it say do not use for climbing? Its what I was taught on cs38?
 19. I've used a hitch climber for about a year with no splice, never found it to interfere - I use a buntline hitch for termination if that's any use. You could also clip top karabiner into middle hole instead if top hole, this moves it out slightly from hitch.
 20. Hi Mark, new job going well cheers really enjoying it! How's things going for you?
 21. Anyone going from (and going back to) Norfolk on Saturday fancy taking a brush cutter for a member on here? See thread O noes been robbed...
 22. If you want it, its yours. I think it should go, but I have a similar approach to mechanics - if I can't fix it with a lump hammer and adjustable spanner, its too technical for me! Its not the most powerful, but its not too bad either. Anyone reading this going to the arb show on Saturday and returning to Norfolk, drop me a message - otherwise I'll put it in post.
 23. Thinking about it, I do have an old 30cc Kawasaki in the shed I'm never going to use - it doesn't go at the moment, but if you're fairly handy it might be persuaded to! Its yours if you want it, don't want anything for it just postage. Or if anyone from Norfolk is going to arb show and doesn't mind bringing it back, even better!
 24. That's the one! Knew it was Harry the cat, but couldn't remember the number after
 25. There's a chap in eBay based in Haverfordwest who does second hand council kit for decent price - I've used him before and not had a problem. At the moment there's a Kawasaki brushcutter on there, I've done more brush cutting than most and rate Kawasaki higher than stihl or husky. Hope this helps! Don't know how to do a link on my phone but item number is 390664507524
