There's one on ebay at the moment...
  2. Yes the 261 is a pretty good first saw and all rounder, ideal for doing your tickets with. May be somewhat over your budget if buying new though?
  3. Efco are pretty decent saws, I used to have a 3500 homeowner model and while small, was pretty decently powered and saw quite a bit of work far above what it was designed for! Can't comment on the echo, never used one.
  4. About a year ago, I brought some beeline 10mm from I think honey bros, it was sort of beige and blue colour and I quite liked it (1st pic below). Been on ocean polyester since then, just ordered some more and the stuff I've got now is black and yellow and feels different to how I remember (2nd pic)? Anyone know if there's an actual difference on construction, or if it's just the colour that's changed?
  5. Can't really help with most of it, but my ms261cm has a three position swith, off on and choke. If there are no holes on the side for tuning screwdriver it's probably auto tune, if there are holes it's probably not?
  6. Thank you spud, plenty on there to look at! It's mainly for driving and the rare days off I want them, was told by the optician last time I went that my eyes are more susceptible to UV damage than most due to being very blonde and blue eyed... hence the looking for a decent pair. However, I know I am somewhat likely to end up doing something with them on! Will take another look at ray ban if they are scratch resistant, quite like the idea of the Dirty Harry look!
  7. Hi all, With the past few bright days, I'm after a decent pair of sunglasses for while driving and occasionally while climbing. Looking to spend a few quid for a half decent pair, but probably not into £100 rayban/oakley etc! Maybe £30-40ish? What's best to go for on this range? Cheers Joe
  8. Ms 461 is a normal carb, brilliant saw love mine ☺
  9. Why not go for a slightly alternative layout, rather than just copying Rob D's (very good) site... So have a page where you select your saw make model etc and everything you might need is there. So, husky 550xp Chains click here Bars click here Spark plugs & starter cord click here Plastic bodywork eg clutch cover click here Does this make sense? Also, I think just having spark plugs, starter cord and common bits of bodywork such as chajn brake handles would be a big selling point, as no one else seems to have them listed easily to find, except for eBay!
  10. As above, cambium saver will eliminate nearly all the sap... even a micro pulley on a tape sling if you don't have a proper one
  11. As a backup to the flip line, either a tape sling/pulley saver as false anchor, or just round stem from bridge
  12. Never met you Sean, but very sorry to hear about it, wishing you a speedy and full recovery
  13. Surely you could do it with a ring, spare krab, mallion etc as described by Mr Fowler?
  14. Which will earn you most money? If you get tickets, that may increase your earning potential, allowing you to get a second family car in a couple of months time...
  15. A plan were about the only people who would insure my landy tipper, and reasonably cheap too
  16. I have had a 550, now have a 261m and just started a new job where I've been given a 560xp as ground saw. Out of those three, I'd take the 261 for arb work over the huskys, just seems to have more grunt not so revvy.
  17. I usually put a few wraps of insulation tape where I am going to cut, heat an old Stanley knife till its glowing with blowtorch and then quick cut through, sealing it as you go.
  18. I don't know anyone who gets too hung up over class, saw trousers are saw trousers! If it's of paticular concern, a cheaper option might be to slow down your chain speed by putting a sprocket with less teeth on, ie. A 9t sprocket is faster chain speed less torque, a 6t sprocket is more torque less speed I'm fairly certain I've got that the right way round!
  19. I use Bolle Trackers in yellow, best I've found on my third pair now! Honey brothers do them, or eBay
  20. I have a yew to fell in Gloucestershire in a month or so if you're interested, would be pretty green though...
  21. I do have a Husky 545 for sale in Painswick. .. It is auto tune but no rev boost electrics like the 550xp.

    Field tree

Make sure ownership is clear if it's on a boundary it could be the neighbour also considers it his tree!
  23. Car boots might be a good option? Or try giving tools for self reliance in Crickhowell a ring, pretty good knowledge of old tools.
  24. No I don't have a problem being honest, not sure where this came from? Just genuinely interested what other opinions are.
