Do you have any smaller ground saws? I'd be tempted to go with a 372xp instead of the 560, more grunt but lighter than 395.

<p>Hi spud, hope you don't mind me asking! I've got an ms201 which isn't oiling properly, but as its my backup saw I would be interested in having it ported (my first ported saw) and the oiler fixed. I know you are a busy man, but would this be something you could do?</p>

If you want a lightweight saw that's easy to sling about all day and only has to pull an 18" once in a while, get the 261 If it's constantly pulling an 18" or weight isn't too much of an issue, 362 Simples

Love my 461, it's won me over to Stihl for ground saws as well as top handles... Only got one husky left now, the trusty 545!

Coming back down limbs like this is where I like to use other end of my main line, descend on that and main anchor until you get to where you want to cut, strop on then pull rope through. Cut and repeat. Using other end of your line and your strop can also make it easier to get up there to start with

One of the lads at work got one, I tried it on but it doesn't go big enough for my head! So those with a larger cranial capacity might benefit from trying one on before buying online and finding it too small...

I brought some last week, been climbing on it for a few days now and really like it, quite soft and supple. Using it on hitch climber with vt, using liros dynama cord I brought in the same order, works really well with that self tends very easily after 15' or so. Going to try it with OP next week. Can't comment on any other climbing system. Only flaw is the splice is too big to fit through the thimble on my pulley saver (new version) and probably the pinto as well - need to order myself a pinto rig and some other retrieval device to overcome this!

I climb on a hitch climber with vt - out of the cheaper cords, my favourite by far is Marlow Boa, works really well, nice and supple. Been on ocean polyester 10mm for about 6 months and quite liking that, seems to take a day or two to bed in but after that its lovely

Can you wear pantin over spikes Mike? Or do you have to change over in tree? Thinking of getting a pantin, this hadn't occurred to me until just now..

Get someone to splice you one, or tie fisherman knots... AFAIK you can't buy them longer than 90cm off the shelf -
Hi all, Well after climbing on a normal Hitch Climber pulley for 18 months or so, I decided to buy another one as I wanted to put one on my strop as well. I brought the Rapide this time, just to see how it compared to my old one. After 3 months of climbing on it, the pulley is basically seized - there's still a bit of movement but not much, have tried cleaning it but no joy. Anyone else had this problem? Is there some maintenance I'm not aware of I should have been doing, apart from cleaning with soapy water? Is the Rapide more prone to dirt getting in than the normal HC? :confused1: Not sure whether to contact DMM, or just buy a new one. Cheers, Joe

Hi all, I'm currently climbing on New England Union rope, but need to replace it fairly soon. I brought myself a length of Tachyon a couple of months ago, and really don't like it as I find it too hard to grip on a dry warm day, let alone in the cold and wet! So it's going to be sold, and I'm back in the market. I climb on a Hitch Climber with VT, and no intention to change any time soon. As I found the Tachyon too skinny, I'm looking at 13mm ropes and interested in any opinions on the following: Liros Ignite - this seems to be a new entry to the market, anyone used this? Samson Arbormaster Teufelberger Arbor Elite I could go with what I've had before, and either get New England or XTC, but I like the idea of trying something new. cheers, Joe

Any 9mm or 10mm should be fine to get you started, personally I quite like Marlow Boa as a cheap cord for prussik loops.

I've not really used a zigzag so can't offer too much advice, my only thought is how old is the rope? If its brand new it may take a few climbs to wear in a bit...

I've looked on t'internet and got myself well and truly confused now... What is the safe level of exposure to your ears? If I am using a 118db husky and wearing 25snr muffs, this means 93db is still reaching my ears, this seems a bir high still? -
I've got two ms201s, not had a problem with either of them. Put a better chain than the standard one on, drill a hole in the exhaust and you're good to go!

Sounds like you've already fallen in love with the 441 and you're hoping we'll be able to remove the arrow of cupid from your heart... If you want a 441, get it would complement the 346 quite nicely IMO

Hi all, My sister has just moved away to Leicester with her boyfriend who has just started uni, and is looking for any sort of work to get some money coming in while she tries to find work in theatre backstage stuff, which is what she really wants to do. She is physically strong, as she's quite used to moving scenery, lights etc. about, and more than happy to work hard all day in any weather. No tickets or real experience, but she is very willing to drag brash, and I'm sure if she was shown how to she'd be OK with chipping. I've sent her off with my old helmet, a hi vis and a pair of steel toe caps, so she should have the basics to start work with. Anything would be very much appreciated Thank you, Joe
