  1. I know someone who might be, where in Gloucestershire?
  2. I did both of mine at the start of may with Roland Heming in Dorset, highly recommended

    Dust mask

After doing my first London plane the other day, I've brought myself a Buff to keep in my pocket, next time I do anything dusty I'm going to try putting it on ocer mouth and nose and see how that goes. Anyone else had good or bad experiences of this idea?
  4. My old land rover tipper was the same, the minute I told most insurance companies it had an engine replacement and tipper conversion they weren't interested. The best company I found was A Plan, cost me £550ish for commercial fully comp for my truck
  5. I try and wear safety glasses, although I've lapsed a bit recently. IMO the mesh visors are crap, I'm going to get one of the top gun style flip down glasses at the arb show for my vertex, hopefully they'll get used more!
  6. I have a 201t as my own saw and a 540xp provided by work - the 201 is by far the better saw IMO, not even a hint of contest
  7. Another happy customer here, was down there a month ago for my cs40 & 41, really knowledgeable chaps and very reasonably priced! Will definitely go back next time I need some tickets
  8. Nearest towns would probably be either stroud or cirencester, if you can find anywhere in those. Stroud is about 20 mins drive, not sure about ciren.
  9. Definitely, I used to have a black helmet then realised what a ridiculous idea it was. Orange I prefer, followed by yellow or red.
  10. Couple from the other day, London Plane takedown for safety reasons
  11. Personally I always opt for orange, as I find yellow blends in too well with a green background, especially grubby yellow!
  12. Good to hear, I'm going down there next week for my cs40+41 (or whatever the new code is), looking forward to it, will report back!

    Stihl ms 201

    that's good to know, thanks

    Stihl ms 201

Mine is 2014 model with old style carb. What's the latest verdicts on the m tonic ones, better or worse?

    Stihl ms 201

I prefer mine over a 540xp, seems to have more grunt and better built.
  16. I ran a g reg landy tipper for 4 1/2 years as my only vehicle, work every day and going to shops etc. I think I lost maybe one day of work unplanned in that time due to clutch slave cylinder going, apart from that she did me proud. Sold it as I'm no longer self employed, currently in a 03 l200 which has some more electrics but still fairly simple. I'd much rather have this than a brand new one IMO
  17. GardenKit, is that all top of the range mitox kit that uses kawasaki parts or just s trimmers? Just had a look on their website and they seem to do a "premium" range of chainsaws, any ideas what these are like to use professionally?
  18. I've always sworn by kawasaki brushcutters, far superior to Stihl or Husky IMO. Mine just refuses to die, after 5 years commercial use in the summer! If Kawasaki ever make a chainsaw I would buy one straight away 😉
  19. Where is it?
  20. With most kit it's such a personal preference, if you can it would be best to get to a dealer and try as many different types on as you can. What one person swears by will be terrible for another!
  21. That video seems to be set to private? Have enjoyed watching the rest of them though!
  22. When I did it a few years ago, it was spike up, get above casualty, set up false crotch eg sling choked round stem, then proceed to normal rescue. They will probably also want to see three man rescue, have someone else on the ground and lower casualty using munter hitch
  23. Thanks a lot for that Ben, I'll see how I get on with it ☺
  24. Got a couple of sites Mark, will give you a ring later.
  25. Thanks all for the advice - I've settled on a pair of oakley valve, £90ish arrived today and wow, what a difference! So much better than anything I've had before, let's hope they last as long as other people seem to reckon.
