  1. Finding this on youtube Sorry, link a bit naff - search for zeparella then any song really - lovely!
  2. Congratulations! Thats great news - Here's wishing the whole family good health.
  3. More likely a Stihl or Husqvarna. Though echoes are gaining in popularity.
  4. This has identified an issue well beyond tickets/experience. Philosophically speaking.... If something goes wrong, it MUST be because the circumstances were not foreseen by the person 'responsible'. Whether you have tickets or not, if you fail to predict the outcome and therefore it all goes belly up the insurers have a get-out. Has anyone on here had an arb claim paid? Anyone had one rejected? What is the collective expreience on this forum?
  5. I get loads of people calling me because they've seen the signs on our vehicles. Remember for every baddie out there there are loads of decent potential customers. It is said by the marketing bods that if a potential customer sees your 'brand' in more than one place then you stand out, so one viewing of your van, and one elsewhere (your web-site/ad in the paper/flyer/recommendation) and away you go. Maybe just seeing your van more than once! As Arnie said 'Just doooo it'
  6. Everyone likes a nice pussy (see recent thread). Careful with that surfboard, Eugene:lol::lol:
  7. You can see right through to the ground on the left side so thats a bit more work - if you want to keep the truck going. It is MOTd till Feb 20th. If interested please feel free to call on 01903 241061 or 07940 591073 Based in Worthing, can keep van at home over the weekend for viewings.
  8. And now the bad news....
  9. As promised - technical ability permitting, here are some lovely piccies. Not sure how many I can put on one post so there may be another to follow... 8 or so pics to follow, here goes
  10. I'll take some more piccies tomorrow - including close ups of the two rust holes, The tool cabinet is separate from the tipper body and does not tip. I'd prefer people to come and look at it and try it out - it will be sold as seen. Pics coming tomorrow Shane
  11. Having flipped my chipper a while ago it's fair to say that a chipper parting company from the towing vehicle is a very noisy event - even drug-crazed groundies would hear it. It would probably not be in a moveable state after it has stopped - so if no carnage was evident then I would suspect a sneeky uncoupling job just prior to departure or even at a set of lights. Hope you get it back intact and without human tissue all over it.
  12. 'You guys must be frozen ' It was mid February and very cold indeed, as our customer popped home for lunch. He then went inside and made himself some dinner and a hot drink. After a while he came out and went back to work. He was right we were frozen
  13. I currently have my old tipper on Arbtrader. It's still taxed and insured so its slowly running up costs - I wanted to make it easy for potential buyers to try it out - what a guy!. Nobody seems interested ( I guess the rusty sills or my extortionate price are off-putting) so I was thinking about maybe selling the arb back on its own or being open to offers. You can see in the ad its a properly built ally job, 2.66m long, 2.06 wide and 1.12 high (internal). It would be too wide to fit onto my landy otherwise it would be on there already - So... if anyone wants it just for the tip box - you can legally take the whole thing away - its MOTd till Feb. I'd rather sell it for a fair price to someone on here than go through the ebay fiasco with all the time-wasters and viewings from people I really might not want at my yard. If you are handy with a welder you could have yourself a bargain van with none of the electric gizmos that cost a fortune to fix. Feel free to PM or call me
  14. Glad its all getting sorted, John. I've got a couple of spare lampshades if you need them.
  15. If you are going to use them for lifting or lowering produce you'll need a loler certificate for them too.
  16. I find the straight blade is better as you can do more accurate gob cuts.
  17. That's not bad, it's done over ten years honest work for us two. I'm sure with a bit of TLC it will go on for ages - that engine was 2 grand brand new just before you bought it from me. All the best, Shane
  18. Is the old 'un OK ? Hopefully this is just an upgrade.
  19. If you are using it just for cleaning up you can fold the top over (about a foot down) I find that makes the bag self supporting, then when its half full you can unfold the top bit and the bag is back to full size, with the crud in the bottom holding it open. This also means you dont have to carry any gizmo with yuo and further reduce your legal payload. I can see the need for something more substantial for the logging guys.
  20. She has, it's just below her waist:laugh1::laugh1:
  21. One of my relatives worked in their 'Acquisitions' department until two years ago. They buy up land as an investment (not only for superstores) and also so that the other companies CANT buy it. He recons they own far more pieces of land which are unused than they have supermarkets They never approach the land vendors directly, always through an agent to avoid price hiking. The bottom line is If people will not get off their posteriors look at the alternatives then the lard-arsed penny pinchers will continue to line the pockets of Tesco and co in exchange for cheap food to expand their profile. Tesco, please.... stop selling flanelette and lycra clothes in sizes above 14
  22. Every time I pull my saw up it acts as a lifting device. I include mine in the LOLER test - why not. If it did fail and cause injury.... mr Judge may ask 'And what checks did you....'?
  23. Some things you can do to wind up the young uns - or genuinely do anyway (Spoons will confirm this)... Tell the same crap joke every day and insist it's the first time you told them. Mix their names up when you introduce them to a customer. Leave the indicators on till they mention it - or lean over and cancel it for you. Hide the van keys somewhere then insist one of them must have them. Remind them how good 60s/70s progressive rock was. Pretend you were in love with the Spice Girls. Ask them how their mobile phones work? Tell them about the old days - any old crap will do. Every monday tell them it's your birthday.
  24. I recall (old git's memory so maybe not 100% correct) it should be someone who is competent and with no vested interest in saving money for the owner of the kit. That would seem to make sense as an employee could be seen as 'co-ercable' (no idea if that is the right spelling). Another company maybe, local arb supplier????
  25. Derrrrrr, hey TC! He looks superb. Great work.
