    Saws

if you are going to use it,check it has a chain catcher fitted, check the brake works(hold it 12-18 inches over a log and let it fall so tip of bar hits the log, this SHOULD activate the inertia brake, if it dosent chuck it in the bin,i personally wouldnt use it
  4. how do you do a muffler mod? pimping my 281 into a 288 at the moment, ive got a skip chain ready to go on,id just like a bit more grunt without going lunatic with my brand new p+p cheers
  5. hedge cutter the top, grub axe around the base, ive got a 17lb spade bar, that also works very well, bit of a pig to do but they come out eventually
  6. hi, does anyone have a rear handle/fuel tank knocking about for the above cash, paypal, cheque what ever suits, cheers mike
  7. honda, lawnflite pro,as said hayters are great untill it rains, i tie the op presence control up so keeps engine going, heard good things about the masport rear rollers, fair bit cheaper than the others too
  8. thats who i use anyway mate, lol:thumbup1:
  9. 4-6 week wait here, closeboard no problem tho
  10. another one here for makita lxt, impact driver is great, also got jigsaw and soon going to get grinder, have 3 batteries, sorted
  11. red power !!
  12. well you know im going to throw a jonsered into the mix. op,jonsered is basically a husky in red clothes and shares most parts, just saying
  13. i use a 5" board with inch overlap , works out 10 per meter, never had any problems, are you any nearer to sorting the problem out yet mate, has recent damp weather improved the cupping?? mike
  14. lost count of the daft things i did as a nipper, stealing the crow bangers from watercress beds was a regular pastime,as was throwing cow **** in the watercress beds, similar to the first post,me and my brother diverted the course of the river by opening up the sluice gates, flooding cow fields, got caught for that one !! happy days
  15. definately
  16. will ask my brother, he is in potterne, knackered back made him retire from full time forestry, but may be up for some grass work
  17. i would try to source your materials from a good fencing specialist, crap materials are at fault here i would say, apart from tearing all the boards of and getting new ones the only option is to add more rails as you said and nail back.
  18. had a good look at chains/bars, seems i have been running 050 chains on a 058 bar, that heads up agg221 seems to have solved the issue, it cant have been splayed rails as bar is fairly new, so must have been wrong chain, job done, cheers mate
  19. right then, lately i seem to find that when i hand file semi chisel chains they end up looking like a full chisel, im not doing anything different than i have for 20 odd years, maybe a trip to spec savers is in order:confused1:
  20. 046 is also a very nice saw, hark at me swearing , lol, 064 also a good saw as is 066, prob having a hard time finding one because they are good and folk like to keep hold of them, some of the older jonsered and dolmars are great saws but getting parts for them now is hard,id stick with husky as you can easily get parts
  21. ah, in that case, i would step the bays for ground intolerences/slopes.
  22. set out the same as closeboard, much easier to sit palings on gravel board, keeping them perpendicular to posts, same as you would with feather edge, morticed arris rails or facefixed 87x38 rails will depend on where you put your g/b cleats. hope this helps mate mike
  23. 266,268,272,281,288, all good saws,262 is/was a fantastic saw,big favorite with production cutters back in the day as was the 254 but wouldnt put a 20" on that tho
  24. patio magic here too, spray it on and leave it to do its stuff
