  1. running fine, put saw down on tickover, revved itself up very slightly then stopped, now wont start, changed plug,checked air filter,tons of compression,what next to check cheers
  2. as above, need an 8 foot ,6x6 oak gate post,hampshire area,poss dorset etc cheers
  3. i had an old brava, good points..great on fuel,very capable of road,huge load area,simple mechanics. bad points..rust rust rust, had mine plated on top off plate !,but all in all a good truck,dated in terms of refinements but if you want a good workhorse and not a racehorse get one, miss mine, very similar to early mk 1 rangers imo
  4. stihl 170/171 or husky 135 like others have said very accurate with the narrow chain, ideal for fencing work, having said that my jred 2150 goes everywhere with me

  6. dont like alloys that much, but have seen some modular steel wheels,but they only come in 16 inch

  8. my ranger has 15 inch rims at the moment, if i put 16 inch rims on apart from gearing it up a bit,does it affect speedo ? any other potential problems to look out for? cheers

    ive asked steve many a question and he has helped me no end,my 2 stroke knowledge is now much better and has helped me a lot when troubleshooting my various equipment,top bloke !!
  10. estate i worked on had a roadless 98 with 7.5 ton boughton winch,put the anchor behind a stump and it would pull anything(bent the anchor once tho) very slow compared to modern kit
  11. on the phone = mind not on the job, i leave mine in the van, make calls/texts on my break only

  14. just bought a mechanically sound but tatty ranger,has anyone got a front bumper lying around,or know of a mk 1 ranger being broken, may need some other bits too,hampshire area, cheers

    great old saws, had same problem trying to get parts for my 153,recoil went on mine,im sure someone on here will have one or know someone who has some parts

    had a 394 ,belter of a saw,so cant see why a 395 wont perform equally or better,will run 36" ok but really happy with a 30"
  19. have been in the same boat on occasions," sorry cant come to work today as i have a cold,"which mysteriously gets better come beer night, good luck trying to find someone reliable

    i would charge no more than £320 for this job,materials and labour
  21. i always carry a handheld in the van,great for the smaller jobs and after strimming etc
