  3. if your sharpening isnt up to scratch then maybe you are leaning a bit on the bar to get your cuts done,a well sharpened chain will pull through the wood without having to lean on it, check oil flow to the bar also, clean oil holes and bar groove

  9. New saws seem to have fatter handles now,i sometimes grab my old saws for logging and notice how thin the handles are , you seem to need a firmer grip on them, so for some of the older cutters that used these saws may now feel the onset of wf I cut my teeth with 154s and 162s awful av compared to newsaws
  10. i use the husky 327ldx,great on chainsaw pole, unbalanced with sort hedge cutter but ok with long reach,a bit whizzy with strimmer attachment but ok in longer/thicker grass where you need a bit more oomph

You will be lucky to get 10 hour days at the end of the month when the clocks go back,so might be better to take an average, november to march say 7 hour day and rest of year 9 hours, im talking about actual working hours not travelling , hope this helps
  19. Ppe,ppe, ppe, training, training training,if you cant afford the chainsaw course,do you know anybody who is experienced to show you the basics, im sure they would be willing to spend a few hours with you. Buy a new saw with dealers warranty whatever brand/model you choose
  20. i wonder how this would look if we wound the clock back 15/18 years ? 254,262,266 , 281/288 etc, could be a new thread, ive no experience of top handles but i think husky ruled the day back then with ground saws just my opinion
  21. Cool, what bands do you play in ?
