I ONLY LEND OUT kit to people who A,have good knowledge of how to use it, and B, have the means to pay for a new replacement if it gets f....., these people are very few and far between, lent a saw out a while back with half gallon of 2 stroke that i mixed myself and equal amount of chain oil, with full instruction on how to fuel and oil it, came back with all the chain oil and a burnt bar and chain, never again

  11. i can sharpen full chisel no problem but semi chisel gives me right grief , like someone else said you have the full corner to keep an eye on with full chisel.
  12. ive had this mate, scratched my cornea about 10 years ago,all good for a while then same symptoms as you,happens a couple of times a year,clorumphenical (spelling) sorts it out, weird tho , doc said it may always flare up now and then due to scarring
  13. Yep gripple will be fine, hayes strainers a must, but i still like to strain every 50m,seen a few stretches fail so i always strain at 50m

  20. Im really surprised that no one has mentioned sharpening ! You could have the best ,most powerful saw going but if you cant sharpen it correctly you may as well use a bow saw

  23. if your post is upright, the gate is true and you put your straps on equal it should be level. do you not have an adjustable bottom strap ??

  25. ive had a few 281/288 and they were never been fitted with the 2 at the front ? but i put some in anyway,dosent hurt to have all 7
