  1. If you are going to be using the saw so little that the fuel mix sits for that many months then i would strongly recommend switching to Aspen 2 which is a ready mixed fuel which doesnt brake down like normal fuel. This means that it doesn't matter how long you have your fuel left in your can! will probably save you a few pennies in the long run and your machine will run a lot better as well!
  2. If you brought it from a shop who uses Aspen to PDI all their machines you don't have to worry about fuel going stale. if not then I would recommend doing as Jonsie said.
  3. we should be going to this, if you don't already know what we do then come and have a look, it might just make your everyday at work that little bit more enjoyable!
  4. Nope, I'm pretty sure by their behaviour that they don't care about their health or about their environment!
  5. Aspen works great in all machinery, if they recommend 33:1 then stick with that. the best way would be to purchase Aspen 4 and mix it yourself. Alternatively if you allready have some Aspen 2 which you use in your other machines, you could add some more oil to that to bring it up to 33:1. i make it 0.065L of oil added to a full 5L can of Aspen 2 which is 50:1 to make it 33:1. Aspen will prolong the life of your engine and make starting it easy when left for long periods of time without having to drain the fuel every time to avoid gumming. The cleaning out of Carbon deposits should not cause any damage but it will increase performance as it cleans the inside of the engine. The problem of rubbers failing because of being subject to fuel containing solvents (pump fuel) is quite rare and is a cheap fix should they do go bad. I believe that the benefits of a cleaner working environment and a better performing machine in the long run outweighs this. Axel

  9. Hi,

cant remember if i sent a pm or not to be honest.

allthough i imagine that i could have sent a message asking which Aspen dealer it was you were speaking negatively about in your post so i could see if i could help you.

    Best Regards Axel

  10. Aspen will once again be exhibiting at the Arbshow this year and we look forward to seeing a lot of you there!
  11. Hi Len, what is the name of the shop you mention? drop me a pm if you would prefer, but i will do my best to help you get a local aspen dealer. FYI A "pallet" is no more then 54 cans (some shops sell 3 or 4 pallets a month to domestic customers alone that's not including the professionals like yourself, there's no risk it wont sell unless he hides it in a corner and doesn't recommend it to his customers) Axel
  12. the RECCOMENDED retail prices are as follows: Aspen 2 - £13.69 Aspen 4 - £13.46 Prices are excl VAT and are unfortunately set to increase by a few pence (as they have at the pumps) to domestic customers, it doesnt matter if the product costs £16 or £20 because they use so little of it, maybe 5L a year in their chainsaw or their hedgetrimmer. what i suggest you do is speak with a dealer and tell them how much you will be buying a year and suggest he offers you a discount based on that. Theres no logic that you should be paying the same as somebody that uses 5L a year! as to the people saying that Aspen does the same as regular petrol then you are very wrong, just read the reviews people write on here and you will quickly understand. Maybe even give it a try! the cost difference in running aspen compared to regular unleaded is minimal when you work out your overall running costs per day and the advantages outweigh this easily. Promote that you are using clean fuels to your customers if you feel that you need to raise your prices to keep your profits. we are always looking at getting new dealers so if you dont have one near and would like to start using aspen then give me a call and maybe we can sort something out! Aspen+

Hi Xerxses, we currently dont stock Aspen+, it is something we could get bet we haven't considered it for the future as we speak. I can find out from Aspen in sweden if they have done any comparisons between Aspen and Aspen + but i cant imagine there being much difference in performance as the only main difference between the fuel is the RON value (ability to resist detonation at low rpm) The main objective with using aspen in my opinion is for the protection of the user and his machines durability and Aspen + will not be any better then Regular Aspen in these aspects. Aspen + is also not available in a pre-mix format for 2 stroke machines so would take away one of the best perks of using Aspen apart from the health benefits and would also be considerably more expensive.
  14. Hi Guys, Running Aspen2 fuel in 4 mix motors should not be a problem. However if you run the Aspen 4 and mix it with the stihl 4mix oil then that should work just as good and will keep stihl happy that you use their recommended oil. The most important thing to keep on top of with the 4 mix machines is that you constantly check the valve clearances. failing to do this may result in burnt out valve seats where the clearance has become too tight. Axel
  15. in a 200L drum we can currently supply aspen at £2.71 normal fuel is around £1.35 around here so probably about £1.55 once you have added oil. the cost difference would be roughly £1.20 per litre more then normal fuel. I think your right in that the overall cost difference would be very small and could easily be absorbed or put into the quote, i know for a fact that switching to aspen hasn't bankrupted anyone! Obviously its down to the individual/business to decide whether the advantages outweigh the cost but if you were to ask anyone who used it im sure they would tell you they do!
  16. thanks for the great response guys! this is really helpful forgot to mention last time, if you are quoting how much fuel your team uses in a day. please could you put how many of you there are. thanks
  17. the cost difference from producing a 4 x 5L cans or one 20L can is hardly any different. most the people we deal with either purchase aspen in a 200L drum and fill it into their own containers or like the 5L cans. the 5L cans come in packs of 3 if you buy more than one which makes them easy to stack. as for transport, apart from having 4 separate items to put in your van, they don't take up any more space than a 20L container. the 5L cans are also easier to use then a 20L as you can refill your saw straight from the can without the need of first cross filling to a different fuel can. check this video from forum member Rob Dyer who shows how easy it is when you pair it with a fillpartner spout. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uP7BG566vE]YouTube - Aspen non spill cap[/ame] So to answer your question about why we don't stock them, its expensive to keep another item in stock especially seeing as its not something which is completely different to what we already sell. Best regards Axel
  18. How much fuel do you guys get through per day on average? it would be really helpful if some of you could help me get some figures. if you could put roughly how much fuel you get through per day and what task it is you are doing to consume that then that would be excellent thanks in advance!
  19. That's excellent to hear! its always nice to be able to go home at the end of the day and enjoy the rest of your evening without feeling ill. As for the different sized containers, we will in the future be able to supply it in a 20 or 25 litre size. probably wont be until the end of this year however because until we move to our bigger premises then we really don't have any room in our warehouse.
  20. Have you got a local chainsaw shop which you get your spares from who could become an Aspen dealer? if you speak to them about stocking the product and assure them how much you would be getting from them every month then that should give them a good start to selling it! After you have spoken to them, give me their details or get them to call me and hopefully we can get Aspen available closer to you. /Axel 01929 555971
  21. Offcourse! If you pm me their details along with yours then I can give them a call and see what we can do. If all goes to plan i will send them 3 cans FOC when they order a pallet of fuel which you can obtain from them.
  22. pm me your address and il sort some out for you
  23. All great reasons to run your machines on Aspen.
