  1. Hi Stephen, its a standard 5L can photographed with a very wide angled lens! sorry if it got your hopes up of a slightly larger container
  2. Just launched our new aspen locater website called, http://www.find-aspen.co.uk now its even easier to try a cleaner alternative to pump fuel!
  3. Hi Guys, Just put together a list of dealers who should have Aspen in stock or will definitely be able to get it should they not have. As you can see there are some places where we need to concentrate on getting some more dealers but this is a good start if your local dealer doesnt stock our products, please let them know about it and give me their details and hopefully we can get them to stock it. 4. As i understood it you and the other guy wanted to know what oil was mixed with the Aspen Alkylate petrol to create the ready mixed Aspen 2t product. sorry if i misunderstood. regarding your question about the higher price tag, thats due to the cost of making the product. Forget the "marketing garp" on the website, just ask anyone who has converted to using Aspen 2t what they think of the product and why they can justify the price.
  5. due to popular demand i have decided to extend the Offer through August
  6. This is the oil which is in the Aspen 2T 2-stroke oil - Aspen
  7. Hi Bart, In most cases there isnt a problem with converting from normal fuel to Aspen, the worst that could happen is that the rubbers in the carb might take ill effect of the lack of solvents in Aspen and may require changing. This is a cheap fix but might be worth noting so that you get some time to try it out before going straight into the job and finding only then that you need to make any changes.
  8. Hello there,

    well done in the competition.

as for tuning tips, it really varies from saw to saw so the only thing you can really try is to put it in. most people find that it will run fine and others have found they need to adjust the low speed a little richer.

the ms200t is the only saw i have heard having problems with but i think its all down to getting the tune right aswel.

the worst thing which could happen is that the rubbers in the carb, could become faulty when you make the switch as they have been exposed to a lot of solvents in the regular fuel. this only happens on a small amount of saws but it is something to be aware of its only a small fix if it does.

any more questions feel free to ask, im sure the guys at the show who run Aspen have told you many good things about the fuel.

  9. Great review Bob! im glad you liked it. as for the power loss, did you try altering the mixture at all from that which you had been running with the normal fuel? sometimes it can take a bit of tweaking to find the sweet spot for running Aspen. (usually needs to be slightly richer on the low speed to make up for the lack of solvents in the fuel which otherwise aid in initial pick up)
  10. Hi everyone, been busy at the Royal Welsh show promoting Aspen and only just managed to find an internet connection. The Duty on Aspen is the same as on normal road fuel, think its 56.19 pence from the top of my head. we are working on getting the duty reduced or removed completely as that would be great for everyone hope that answers your original question. Axel
  11. Thats the plan buddy. As for the oil, its Aspens own fully biodegradable 2 stroke oil mixed at 50/1.
  12. Aspen will be exhibiting in the royal welsh show and one of our dealers will be brining fuel to purchase/try. Stop by for a chat if your passing by!
  13. we will be exhibiting at the Royal Welsh show next week from monday - thursday. Stop by if you want to know anything regarding the fuel or if you just want a free cup of tea or coffee. Hopefully see some of you there. Regards The Aspen team
  14. didnt mean to quote the entire wiki page, was merely refering to the health effects part. but, if you have a read through the page youl find that it even states that the european benzene limit in petrol is 1%. just like on the UKPIA website. Aspen in sweden carried out an experiment and found out that a modern chainsaw running on normal 95 octane unleaded fuel pushes out the same amount of benzene emissions as 57 modern cars. and that a modern chainsaw running on aspen only pushes out half the benzene emission as 1 car.
  15. Some good points made there old woodchip! we are working hard in getting as many dealers as possible and judging by our sales figures, Aspen is selling more and more every month which is great! and hopefully we will have a dealer near you soon. We have no connection with Shell or BP. Environment talk is always going to be a tough one, especially when it comes to fuel. But the main reason we think you should use Aspen fuel is for your own health. Have you asked your local dealer if they would stock it?
  16. Hi Tommer, Firstly we still have to pay the same petrol tax on aspen as normal fuel. Aspen is a much further refined product then regular pump fuel, and money is constantly spent trying to improve the product for what is potentialy your benefit. furthermore you have to take account for the cost of transport and packaging aswell as storage fees and handling. in a way you can look at it similar to water. I.e When you get water from the tap (bulk) its cheap. when you buy it in a bottle from your nearest store its much more expensive. Aspen is an amazing product, i hope that one day you will try some and give it a fair trial as for the 80%, i wish that was profit on Aspen. Maybe then i would be able to trade in my Aspen Caddy van for something a little bit more exciting
  17. Hi Paul, Aspen will store for up to 5 years and wont clog up your carb if you forget to drain it over winter (thus not going off). Aspen is fully approved by stihl and will not void their warranty. Any more questions dont hesitate to ask!
  18. Great to here so many positive comments About Aspen!. for anyone who is still pondering over the idea of giving it a trial, Dont miss out on the trial offer we are running at the moment http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/aspen-fuel/18110-try-aspen-fuel-arbtalk-offer.html
  19. Heres a link to wikipedia explaining the health effects of benzene which is very much present in regular unleaded petrol. Note the reference to dizziness and headaches which users on the forum who use aspen report they no longer experience. Benzene - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (scroll down to health effects)
  20. Hi Ian,

the legal issues are regarding the transportation of petrol in larger containers. I will look into this in more detail as the 25 litre cans is something we will consider in the future.

One concern with the 25 litre containers is that it is much more difficult to transfer the fuel into your machine without spillage. This is one of the benefits of the 5 litre cans aswel as being able to bring it with you easily if your working a fair distance from your vehicle.

we are moving our warehouse over the winter so we cant take on any new products until that is finished but different container sizes is definitely something we are keen to improve on.

what is your opinion on 50L drums?

    Axel

  21. Andy, im sorry if we have scared you away from trying alkylate petrol of any kind as this certainly wasnt our aim. The reason why we started selling aspen is because we have seen the benefits it gives for its users throughout europe and we stand behind our product 100%. It makes me happy to read all the really positive comments posted on this forum about aspen by individuals in the same business as yourself who have made the switch, and we merely want to give others the chance to try it. If "scaring" people is what we have to do to get people to try it then i really dont see the problem as pretty much everyone who has tried it will keep using it because they realise the benefits! As for your comment about not being dead from using normal pump fuel, that's great news! but the reality is that just like smoking or inhaling asbestos it takes time. Do you really have to wait untill someone at the HSE tells you stop before you are willing to try a healthier alternative? It's a fact that when people first started smoking they didnt know about the health concerns and im sure it would never have gotten so popular if they then knew about all of the health related problems because of smoking then I'm sure most would have stopped straight away. Is it a coincidence that the people who have tried Aspen, now use it regularly and are very happy with the product, but the people who havent tried it just complain about the price?. I personally dont think it is. Axel
  22. i guess thats all down to where you are driving to, for some this might not be an inconvenience whilst for others it could. as for your coffee, isnt the average price for a cup at a petrol station about two pounds whereas if you made it at home and put it in a thermos it would only cost 20p max? pretty sure thats 10 times more expensive with no added benefits apart from convenience. does this not make paying twice as much for a product with all the benefits of Aspen seems like a good deal in comparison? just a thought. I can see your concern with the outlay of having fuel in stock. However, as users report that they feel much better and that their health improves and therefore work with more energy maybe this can justify the extra cost of storage.
  23. Hi Woodpecker, The idea behind using Aspen fuel is that you will eventually buy it in bulk, (ie a pallet of 54 cans or 2x200L drum) This entitles you to a Pro User discount of 10% and free freight. once you have calculated in the cost of going to the petrol station and filling up regular fuel, buying oil, time spent mixing and driving to the petrol station. it works out less then twice the cost. There are many ways of justifying switching to Aspen. These include, the convenience of having the ready mixed fuel (no more time spent mixing and potentially getting the wrong mixture which could lead to expensive saw repairs) Pro longed saw life, due to the above and the clean burning characteristics of the fuel. spillproof container when used with the fillpartner filling spout. however, we hope that the health benefits alone should make you want to use Aspen and by reading what many users of Aspen on this forum have said im sure this is the case for them.
  24. message went a bit strange there,

meant to say, Currently we are only able to supply aspen in 5L cans and 200L Drums
