  1. Nice lot of tension and cracking in that tree.
  2. Already spoken to them on the phone and confirmed with an E-mail, which they have declined to reply to.
  3. Surely I cant demolish all of the mansion house, I'm not that rough.
  4. Habitat piles, as extraction would trash the plantings in the noted landscape unless you used a garden tractor.
  5. Don't fill them so much then you can carry them, or take a wheelbarrow and two of you lift the full ones onto it.
  6. Some you will win on some you will loose on.

  9. Has a tendency to overload the shaft if you jam the hedgecutter head cutting too thick a bit, i use mine with a hedgecutter head. The pole sawhead has a degree of slippage as the drive sprocket is not fixed to the shaft directly it is driven by belvill ie frictione washers
  10. there are 2 shafts. One an externally splined shaft and the other an internally splined tube and they slide inside each other ooh er. There is sometimes a sacrificial plastic drive extension at the saw head of the shaft and this is there to snap if you overload it. Does the top of the shaft turn with the engine running?. You've not been using it with a hedgecutter head have you?

  16. I have some dead Elm trees to remove from a listed building grade A in Aberdeenshire. The grounds are designated a garden and designed landscape, do I need permission from Historic Enviroment Scotland before felling them, they are not in a conservation area or have TPO's on them. Thanks in advance
  17. Would expect crane to be more than that steve. I quoted one back end of last year and it was over £1400 for crane contract lift, with no road closures.
  18. I'm in Aberdeenshire and buy from FR Jones, never had a warranty claim yet in 20 yrs, mind you I don't have any autotune type saws, so can fix them myself or send to spud.
  19. Yes, but they will probably be grumpy about it and slow sorting it out
  20. Is the tree grafted, could be the rootstock, seems high for a graft though. Yes cut off the green as it will dominate as stronger growth due to better photsynthesis. 2nd question:- yes you should remove crossing branches. Rules of pruning, remove in order of importance, dead, dying, diseased, crossing and then prune for asthetics.
  21. Biomass | Thompsons Plant Hire Ltd WWW.THOMPSONSPLANTHIRE.CO.UK Thompsons Plant Hire has a proven track record in providing biomass, for the new generation of low carbon power plants. Too big?
