  1. a decent groundie bag for clearing up rakings would be handy,,go through so many builders sacks,,,bit like a large pop up throw rope bag,,,,,not the cheap gardening ones that the bottom wears out in minutes,,,,,could double up as a jacuzzi,,,,??
  2. if we went by there beliefs,,we`d never work,,,,ive turned quite a few of these woods,,and as long as suitable extraction,,and good dust masks used you`ll be fine(honest trigger),,,,,,,try to only use english woods though,,,,

  4. hi I run a 10kw bench planer which is 3 phase of a convertor,,,from my 240 ring,,,,,if you go on e-bay you`ll find em,,,,big blue box,,,transwave convertor,,,,,not cheap,,but the works,,you want a rotary one,,,,,,good luck,,,,,if you can afford the pro.kindlett you have no issues,,,,,lol

    hi bizarre thing happened today,,went to see a client,today who is local land owner, his land runs parrellell to a dodgy bit of road,,,and we have to dead oaks to come down over it,,,,I was running through our options with him,,,road traffic management etc,,,,,when I spotted a large chestnut further down the lane with a nice lean on it,,,,,,towards a busy junction,,,,(country lane junction) I went over to investigate and found the whole tree had a cavity big enough to stand in,,,,,I mentioned to the client that I was amazed it hadnt fallen over yet,,and with a bit of luck it would blow over and save us doing a dangerous tree,,,,he laughed,,we decided to inform council of how bad it was,,etc,,,,anyway went off to take out a prunus,,,,hour later got a call from him to say tree had fallen over in wind,,and blocked the whole rd,,,,SPOOKY,,, glad I hadnt climbed it!!!!!! time to buy lottery ticket,,me thinks.

  16. theres a market for the hazel at all ages from 2yrs onwards,,you just need to understand the markets,,,,smaller rods,,to basket makers,,,,3yr rods for plant supports,,,5 yr old hedging stakes etc,,,,straight rods,,,,evergrowing allotment market,,,,so on,so on,,,,can be just as profitable as firewood,,,

Take em a green log sliced like a big stepping stone,,get em to weight it green,,then again in three weeks time,,educate em about trees liking water,,hence the loss when left to dry,,without roots etc,,,,,im lucky enough to use a pole lathe so useally give em a demo on that,,making them a rounders bat out of a piece of ash,,so they can play with it,,,,,but mabye thats a little advanced,,lol,,good luck,,,

  23. its not recommended treating any bird boxes,,,,but I use an organic oil on mine,,and the birds havnt had any complaints in the last ten yrs,,,,the yew will be fine,,,,,
