  1. all a bit weird for my liking????
  2. mate theres two schools of thought from what I can work out,,,,colleges etc say prune in autumn,,,but many of my old customers ,,who have lovely cordens ,,faned pears etc,,prune in march to encourage vigourous regrowth,,,,but have to acept limited or no fruit,,,for first year,,,,,i generally go with old school as they have experience,,,and hands on knowledge....two day courses tell you to prune a third of growth,,,so I go with customers requests,,(after my advice),,and making sure growth points etc,,,,have had repeat custom,,,so,,,good luck
  3. id burn em with the stolen logs,,robbing, gits,,,,,

  7. have been using my japa sawbench (no splitter) for three days now,,blade version,,and am well happy with it,,,,its creates fine sawdust that local smallholding take for bedding animals down on,,,,,its much faster than a chainsaw,,far less tiring,,on my back,,,,and doesnt take two people,,,,,,couldnt aford processor at mo,,and till i source a regular supplier of timber to bring into my yard,,reckoned it would be £8k sat there doing nothing,,,so would choose the sawblade over chainsaw everytime,,,,
  8. great silouette pics,,,,nice
  9. that is a good days work,,,,
  10. i debated firewood processor,,but second hand ones are like rocking horse s..t...so decided that for £4k less i would by a sawbench(same blade as a processor)from fuelwood, well guarded and a splitter from riko,,,,this does excatly the same as a processor,,,,all be it more work,,,,but £4500 cheaper....thats a lot of money towards my employee,,hes iin a job,,and my back doesnt ache half as much,,,,,,not regrets here,,,
  11. nice job mate but would suggest you tried using a helmet with visa ,,,as if you`d seen mess on my subi`s face when he got a snag and yanked it free,,,believe me you` d wear a visa,,,,,,,,

  14. skychuck,,as you`ve seen everybody has there favourite,,thats just the way it is,,,,as long as were all selling our favourite,,who cares whether your right or I am,,its all sold,,,,and were all happy and our customers are,,,,happy days,,,,
  15. if its dry it burns,,,,cant say I`ll lose any sleep ..over it,,,,20yrs of tried and tested log sales,,and customer feedback,,they prefer, ash!!!!! I burn it all day long,,,,they and I have had other,,,london plane isnt as ready available,,,plus its worth more in planks,,,so wouldnt waste it,,,,popular when dry is fine in wood burners,,but I have a mix of customers and they dont always tell me what its for,,so as it spits I cover my ar.e,,,,it obviously burns fine as they make all the matches from it,,,if you prefer beech,,good for you,,,its nothing personell..just my experience,,,
