I have had about 20 tonnes of beech recently and, we are really sad to see the last of it. It was easy to process and burnt well. This seems to crop up alot on this forum. All these wood preferences..... I understand when you are making things...chairs, tool handles, treen and on and on. But for firewood, it just has to be dry. Sure, some might burn quicker than others, but not so as you'll get annoyed. My house runs on wood - hot water and rads - so I don't think I can afford to be that picky. So, if you have a large pile of beech or any other 'unsuitable' firewood, I will happily take it off your hands...
