  2. thanks guys i take all on board,and i think £300 a day with bloke is ok,just trying to work out whether to buy one or hire one, I currently have jappa 100 saw bench and 11ton riko spliter,,just could do with speeding up the process,,,,,probably buy one in new yr,,,,I understand about hiring out and pitfalls,,dont hire my chipper out for same reasons,,,,next thing is "which one" off to read the links I suppose.....thanks
  3. this man talks sense my thoughts excatly,,you left him??? if I could count on my hands over the last ten yrs how many new subbies had put stuff into my chipper without realising the shoot was blocked and oblivious to the smoking drive belts and noise,,i`d be a very lonely tree surgeon,,,,,but they only do it once,,and thats not because I sacked em,,,,,,,
  4. producing how much for the client?...after your quote of £52.50 per ton,,,thats some pricy firewood,,,ontop of my £1.27.9 per ltre fuel tday,,,..jesus firewood prices are going to go through the roof,,,,hence why my nearest competetor is £100 per cm3 ,,,,,its mad:001_huh:

  6. so whats going rate of bloke with processor,,and whats the return,,roughly,,given fairly straight timber,,,? 1cm3 every 15mins?

  8. get the drift chriss but surely a nominal fee for tuition,,or pitfalls shown,,along with deposit,,are an option,,just think,,its massive outlay for something you may only need for a week or two?
  9. hi guys,,with firewood processors flying out the door and second hand ones like rocking horse s...t,,,,why are`nt there more available for hire,,surely if there as fast as made out how many are sat there for months doing nothing? whos hiring them?
  10. yes but having been turned over twice in my short life not happy to let the "low lifes" get a free woodmizer,,so always leave a log on it,,and the supports down, cant imagine how will feel to one day not see it there,,,,
  11. my computer crashes everytime i go from a google heading from the search,,,only way round it was to save it in my favourites and access it from there,,seems the only way it works,,,otherwise get this weird blue circle spinning around(no its not the beer)which leads to me restarting the process,,annoying
  12. sold out of my seasoned stuff by end of Oct, fair bit too,,,good 100 cm3,and bought 55cm3 split and seasoned from a mate,,sold that in two weeks,,wish i had 200 more cm3,seasoned,,,,turning four calls a day away,,,,,people lapping up green ash,,even after me telling them not to buy it???doh!

  14. got a new tractor and woodmizer,,rang NFU, there happy to insure my tractor, but not happy with woodmizer? how do I insure it,,as more chance of woodmizer getting nicked than woodmizer.who do you use??

  20. hi just bought new tractor,(new to me lol)ford 5610,,,and apparently its road legal,,,comes with V5,,,I`m presuming I need to insure it,,,,and its apparently tax free,,,not sure how this works,,,what do I need to do to make it leagal and how? cheers Delabodge:001_huh:
