  1. so disagree,,i applied for a job in the guardian,and thought "somebody must get em" all be it having done a one yr national diploma,,,,sometimes try and ride your luck, volunteers take peoples real jobs,,whilst there on there £50k IT job,,,there volunteering weekends and hols,,,taking positions,local councils love,,,free labour,,,and whilst I acept voluntering gives you work experience,,it shouldnt become a career,,,,
  2. Im one but subbie in help when I need it,,which is often,actually at least three days a week,,,!most of my guys work for two or three tree teams,,so we job share depending on who`s busiest,,,if I knew now, 15yrs ago that would be my line of thought,,,,
  3. just want to say thanks to my reading crew,who against all odds stuck at it today in torrential rain to hit the deadline,we couldnt rake up as it was floating,,,mad days like today make you realise what great lads I work with,,you know who you are,,,,,,

  5. a tree that old deserves to live on in one way,dont know all circumstances,,,nice hes replacing tree,,would be nice to see the tree milled,sculptured or used for something,,but as no pics shown,dont know true picture,hope it didnt grow for firewood,,,,,(p.s am firewood supplier before you say anything)
  6. hi noticed that my 53'plate transit crewcab tipper body is wearing thin,and tailgate mullered,apart from going down crazy(although very nice) tipmaster route,where can I get a new steel replacement>at resonable price?

  8. I personally prune all my fruit trees in spring,march time after frosts and just before growth spurts,,,if the customer cares about there trees,then your opion counts,sometimes they just want you to crack on,,,tough descion,,,,

  11. I do most of my quotes on bike,,sometimes the customer thinks Im a courier delivering the quote,,in a roudabout way I am,,,,cuts hours off my week,,,,
  12. half way through toping 8 douglas firs,,we got refused by BP yesterday to fill up my combi can? he said you can put it in your car but not cans,,I said firstly its a diesel,,and secondly you`ll have a riot if you dont give me the p:thumbup1:etrol

  14. mate if it wasnt for work and tree work,,Id get **** faced every night,,cause it feels good,,,,but ,,,,reality kicks in,,and I just have a few every night depending how tough a day ive had,,in the winter rarely,and in fact one month never,,,people have been doing it for yrs,,your fine,,,

  16. mate theres many companys making gates out there,yours look good, but keep it as a sideline untill the demand outstrips your time available to make them, ie dont give up your day job till you know you`ve an order book to fill that can actually make you a living, but wish you best of luck,,,

    thanks janey xxxx,,,,, litter is my pet hate,,,,,I end up taking loads home from every hedge I cut, i`d make every m...onalds responsible for litter within a mile of there store,,,,ok,,,,200yrds,,,,,council get business rates then use our council tax to pick up rubbish,,did we ask for the store>/??

    couldnt agree more rob,,sent 5yrs as a ranger picking up after low lifes,,,,the other day i was riding my bandit 1200 back from a quote when bloke in front threw his sandwich rapper out of window,,,I stopped picked it up,,....drove past and launched it straight back through his window,,,,,needless to say he then decided to have road rage,,,how typical,,,,,w.........er
