  4. I said the publication was very useful,but,,,,,its a furum,,it was only my opionion,,hence furum,,,doh?
  5. The said company,,,also hark on about how inported firewood has a high carbon footprint? errrrr hang on ,your shipping it all over the country,,having kiln dried it first? surely,,the quote " local guy who in his spare time produces firewood then delivers in his pick-up and might stack it" is at least keeping local wood local, providing a friendly face and low carbon footprint!
  6. it was a good general publication,,,part from the bit from a "very Big company" who tried to sell the small supplier, as a wet wood, tonne selling,,hill billy,,,,he forgot to mention his huge grant he recieved!!!
  7. been bagging and stacking logs for the last two weekends,,,,determined to get enough for next yr and not run out by september for a change,,,

  9. how much room do you need to set up the lucas? have oak take down coming up,In small back garden?
  10. hi Big j,,,,I own a woodmizer and plank most stuff myself, but on ocassions I get a lucas in as the tree is in the back garden and cant get it out, from past experience the lucas is pretty accurate for say 8x2`s,etc,,and you get some uniformity, which is good for picnic benches/sheds/log stores etc,,but a ball ache on larger stuff,,,in the ideal world i`d have both,,but that would = DIVORCE.....
  11. or better still, mill it with your alaskan, store it, then make something and sell iit for more,,ie adding value to timber,,,

  14. public consoltation is just a way they think we`ll be happy,,bless them,,,what do the public know,,,,I bet theres no second homes in the way,,as there both in the city,,,who can afford to use the trains anyway?
  15. pity the cheap labour wont be able to afford the sky high ever increasing rail fares......
  16. typicall, against all stuctured oposition too,,,public meetings and opionions mean nothing,,they would have already made there minds up,,, They say it will knock off half an hour ,off the journey from london to birmingham!!! as its none stop!! surely then it would be cheaper to add another train on exsisting line and make that none stop??? doubt they`d have thought of that,,too busy working out which friends will get the contracts,,,shame!!
  17. stunning mate,,,truly class,,,,
  18. I agree,,if that was my horse,,and I found the maniac responsible,i`d do the same to them,,,,,
