  3. whats the website address or link Big J to have a gander?
  4. thanks,,,I sell everything I make, cause have been doing it for 20 odd yrs, and like "bill holgarth" says,,its all about knowing your markets,,,,my shows are tried and tested, and I`ve wormed out all the shows that dont pay to go too,,,as much as I like them, Ive got very harsh on my destinations to sell,,,never go to wood shows,as too much choice for the public to spend on,,,much better smaller venues, non woody,,or massive shows where its a numbers game,,,, of course the weather makes a big difference,,,,,! if its sunny and the beers flowing ,,always around 4/5 oclock wine stoppers are a winner,,lol... farmers markets used to be good, but have to remember its the same old crowd coming week after week,,,there coming to buy food mainly to replace the stuff they ate last wek, if they got a wine stopper from me there hardly likely to want another next week etc,,,so I do them for a while then give them a yrs break, or move around a bit,,,
  5. due to the cold weather its taking ages to dry, and i`m covering a large area, so slow on the turn round,,,i bought mine from finnishes direct! I am putting three coats on as the benches are going to my local, and want to make sure the finnish is good or will never here the end of it,,lol
  6. Im using the liberon decking oip on my cedar benches, diluted at first 50/50 with white spirit, as drys faster,,,
  7. :thumbup1:wokingham mate, berkshire,,,who`s cheviot? got any more details?
  8. hi sure this has been covered, but probably missed it,,,just made a mound right round my yard to stop undesirables walking off with my gear and fancy planting it up with some xmas trees for future picking for my own family and friends,,any one know where i can order 50 or so plugs?saplings?
  9. hi tree demon, the dark ones are walnut, the light ones ash!
  10. had a few planks of thin walnut, and plenty of ash, so made some of these up for the local pub for cheese boards, and gave the rest away for xmas pressies...

  17. yes john, but have no way of moving them afterwards,as dont have a telehandler or forklift,,,when i do i will!!in the mean time,,,its the sensible option,ie tax bill first,,lol,,then maybe in the new yr i`ll have that option,,,,
  18. after the early set back of nails, we eventually produced 104 x 9ft 6x2 oak beams/rails,,,,theres some more oak not pictured, a good day in the rain,,and a couple of m3 of firewood in the offcuts,,, (there was some rot in the butts but plenty of good stable oak)
  19. john came today with his lucas as i wanted a load of 6x2`s for frames for benchs,,,,it rained and rained then some more,,but we got through it,,,hit some nails in the start but metal detector found the rest,,,a great guy, and a rewarding day,,,(more pics to follow)p.s could have used the woodmizer or alaskan, but the lucas churns out these sizes fast,,,,
  20. thanks guys!!!!got wet today milling though pics posted soon,,,,
