  5. Recived an email yesterday from the childrens trust. Looks like they're doing a fundrasing event around the country and all you have to do to help is jump from a plane! heres the link Take to The Skies - The Children's Trust! so whos up for it?
  6. length of prusick depends on alot of things how you climb, how tall you are how long your arms are etc. I think the last time i bought friction cord for prusick i got 2 m for one prusick but that is pretty long. if you get a few meters you can play around with lengths and stuff. remeber that knots take up a fair amount of the loop
  7. maybe we do but theres still alot of woodman trying to make monney soley on chesnut and the good sites are being taken for biomass maybe this is just a local thing to me i dont know
  8. people who use biomass need to be a bit smarter instead of using valuable wood as I have seen they need to try and use less useful stuff. or buy a few fields plant it up full of stuff like sycamore cut it after ten years and itll grow in no time at all. but as usual its all rushed etc
  9. the only thing worse than protesters is climate change protesters rising cordwood price just means a rise in log prices

  16. there was a stand at a show last year I think they were called magnum stump grinders not very powerful but will guranted to fit through a door Alpine Magnum Portable Stump Grinders and Trenchers
  17. I agree I saw a programe a few months back. Alot of the big sites here in England are targetted by major crime organisations and its a multi million pound industry. alot of the time the scum that steal it are the smallest part of it.
  18. I to love brick laying and was pretty good at it when i was at college. I do a little bit of hop picking every year just done some evening shifts last year but its satisfying but not as satifsying as the gfood beer that comes with it. Its also great to be part of a dying tradition and still being a tiny part of keeping it going.
  19. Same here tapes are the more infuriating bits of kit that you cant live with and cant live without and when they break they are a pain to get working again. I'm going to get a husky one next week they seem pretty bombproof.
  20. I should be able to make it. Nice one mark:thumbup1:
  21. Im gutted I cant afford any festivals this year been to a few of the last readings and glasto last year. Glasto beats any festival hands down in this country. the secret garden party does look pretty good
  22. You had many problems with fires creeping/spreading Andy? we have had a couple go unexpectadly further than expected but we got them under control. One of the woods we coppiced a while back had some kids have a camp fire and had it spread near some pines it fizzled out until the following night they where back again and the fire brigade where called. Weve stopped burning all together at the momment

  24. for the sake of your back and overall sanity get yourself one of these. Not much in difference price wise to cooper peglers and a HELL of a lot more comfortable. If your going to be using it alot its well worth it. You can also get battery powerd versions to save your arms. Index
