  1. My mum received a letter from the council with details of someone else including card details adrres stuff that fraudsters would love. The council didn't even care.
  2. How ridiculous they are only poplars usual press twisting what they were told
  3. cs32 is a good course but after that get down in the woods and earn yourself some monney. courses aint everything:001_smile:
  4. I got taught that to can be very handy out in the woods or if you have got the silly stihl ones that are next to useless imo!
  5. coppice is a sort of a way of prunning youve got your point which you take back to which is going to regenerate growth taking it back to far will not produce regrowth therefore your defeating the object of coppicing. Its also best not to have flat cuts a flat cut will collect rain and rot the stump and again will give no good regrowth. Every coppice stool is different mind and everyone flush off differently in coppicing.
  6. Ignor that rambled load of rubbish I am coming friday and campiing to if you dont mind:thumbup:
  7. I cant belive he had no saftey glasses on. could of been dangerous
  8. I do belive mark has a picture for the lunge thread to. Thanks for the comments:001_smile:
  9. Im gutted im not going this year I tried for tickets back in october and had no luck then monney started becoming tighter and I started focusing on my work rather than drinking all my monney away or having fun. Was such a good experience though and the weather last year was just to hot for me. Trying not to pay much attention to it as im gutted im not there
  10. Personally Ive never been on a site with a harvester and only occasionally had machinery to help. Alot of our work is on coppice sites where a digger would be a bit of a pain thats why I suggested a bobcat but whatever make it easy and whatever get your more wood and more monney:001_smile:
  11. I allways think something like a little bob cat to help with the moving of timber and clearing brash with a forwarder working alongside clearing timmber. No manual handling of wood so doesnt need to worry about lengths etc etc.
  12. I heard mate if your ever down this way again give us a shout was ashame I couldnt make sunday.
  13. Yeah Mark said you where coming down I was going to join you but was a bit tied up with work. Heard you found yourself a treat?
  14. As someone said try Gollum on here. I did my basic certs when I was 16 at plumpton so I dont see why.
  15. Well back at christmas 2010 I won a prize donated by Mark kneller for a cs30 course. Having allready got this course Mark decided to carry my prize over to a cs32 course ( above 15 inch trees). I had my training 3 days last week and had my assesment today. Im pleased to say that I have passed:001_smile: . Was proberly the hardest assesment I have taken not made any easier by the rain. So a massive thank you to Steve for running the raffle and this site Also a another massive thank you to Mark for donnating the prize and for giving some expert training and putting up with my awful bad habbits:blushing: Mark is a very good and expeirienced trainer and I highly reccomend him. It means a great deal having two people helping me out in this way. So happy christmas everyone:thumbup:
  16. I should bee able to go not sure if itll just be the saturday yet. Is it ok to camp friday night after work not sure how my holiday allowance is looking but ill try and make both days. thanks:001_smile:
  17. A retainer I belive its called? I think its a fine way of working.
  18. well done! what sort of thing is covered in a forestry engingering course? is it mechanics of forestry specific equipment?
  19. I wonder if the weather made changed anyones mind just as the show was shutting and we started setting up and I dont think that it stopped all night we ended up just sitting in a car and drinking but even i thought there was more than 12 picthes though. See you all at jonsies!
  20. isnt going against what your signiture line says?
  21. They were very cheap on most things unfortuanattley they wasnt cheap on mcuh that I wanted. I think I got my split tail from there for an impressive 8 pound!
  22. The venue was fantastic some realy stunning grounds and plenty of fantasitic trees.
  23. Sureley it wont be long til stihl relise it and bring out a spanner thats both old and new? The only down side is where they put the spark plug again in an awful place thats realy fiddlily to get to. Theres making a compact saw and then there is making thing un neccasarily annoying.
  24. Thats exactley what Ive been thinking aswell. It was my first AA show and we all had a great time plenty of stuff to do beyond buying. Our only grumble was the food quee yes it was quite long and another food stand would of been great. We got some bangers and mash from there at about half 5 as they were just cleaning up ( still full price) and it didnt agree with 2 out of 3 of us:thumbdown: And ive finally converted to a hicth climber:001_rolleyes:
  25. having spent all weekend picking it up and looking and trying to find issues. I can say that stihl have really convinced me and collegues on it. I did see the combi spanner in the stihl presentatoin and thought thats odd but a captive nut is a good idea IMO. havent used it yet and not sure when I will but just from feeling it it feels and looks like a good saw.
