  1. Sorry should have added i already have a 357 xp with 15 inch bar. Wondering about a 372 - whats the opinion on these? Davie
  2. I made a profit selling it from when i bought it 2nd hand a few years ago Dealer reckoned he had sold it 17 years ago, then bought it back. I hope i dont regret selling it
  3. So i am looking for the advice, reviews or recommendations of the forum before i send jonsie some more money for a shiny new saw Just sold my 266 so looking to replace it with something no smaller cc, preferably a 20 inch bar. Its not used for felling just for firewood and only a day or three's worth a year. Preferably husky as local dealer is good. Thanks all
  4. Had ours on for a couple weeks now, mainly in evenings. Trying to stop the crazy heating system waking up and burning oil - wish i had simple on/off time clock on this system rather than on/off but add in if temp drops below x degrees it wakes up, so may as well just switch to on for 24hrs. dont know how much i burn per winter, cant count that much.......shed is 11 x 11 feet. slopes from 8 feet to 7 foot at rear and i empty that.
  5. Hi Justin,

Got a tech questin for you. changing spark plug on the 357 i got from you (its running good i just do them every year), and local husky dealer wants me to use a oregon plug, apparently oregon have gone accross to a new numbering system where as plug currently in saw is a ngk - whats your advice?

    Cheers

    David Wood

  6. hi spudulike,

got a question for you, been down local husky dealer to get new plugs for saws and he only selling the oregon ones, apparently they have changed from having plug numbers to part numbers and now the same plug does 357 and my old 266. took plug out of the 357 i got from jonsie and its a ngk rbpmr7a and the oregon part number on plug that he gave me is 77-324-1. just looks like a slightly larger plug, have you heard of this?

when i swopped the old ngk one in my husky hedgecutter for the oregon universal one it wouldnt even fire, put old plug back in and all good - weird

  7. Go have a play round a go ape course (google will find nearest one), the zip slides and drop offs into cargo nets will tell you the equipment is good so trust it and you will have great fun at same time
  8. dont tell me jonsie doesnt sell stihls - how to make myself look daft (er) than usual.......
  9. Breton monkey - if you have certs like our nptcs and are pro user then jonsie can help you online. its how i bought my 357 from him. i live hundreds of miles from his shop too.
  10. bfg muds on my 90, done 50k now and still going although wont last the winter if theres a lot of snow. Got new set sitting ready, hope they do as long.
  11. tfr is great stuff, i find a really good pressure wash first, spray on and leave to soak in for 5 mins then wash off hardly ever fails.
  12. Look up eastland forestry, nigel astell's company. just outside aberdeen. He has a tree squad and often hires staff.
  13. spud, wish i had known about this place and your repairs before i sold my 340. cursed saw even from new took 10 - 12 pulls to start every time from cold. Bless ebay selling it on though....
  14. I dont sell firewood but one thing i fail to understand is people who wont burn softwood. kept me warm here for 15 winters now! I gladly take any arb arisings i can get my hands on, often exchanged for whatever person prefers to drink or stuff of folding variety. Softwood is just fine when dry.
  15. See you in aberdeenshire, wheres your course at? Could go totally overboard like i did and pack in car a spare saw, spare chain for 2nd saw, extra combi can of fuel/oil, spark plug and start cord for 2nd saw plus files etc guarenteed if you take it then you wont need it but sure as a cats a hairy beast if you dont you will need it
  16. look up gammies in forfar - kubota dealer. Jock there is a very helpful guy
  17. Not broken by me but where i work in last 6 weeks its been machine carnage 1 rotary mower with bent crankshaft, one with big lump out of side of deck. A glass door on kubota b3030 and a bent shaft which resulted in snapped drive shaft on a lil husky strimmer.
  18. 357xp, used a 340 as my own saw and works 351 and my 266 - overall i love the 357
  19. Would say save money and get a 357xp from jonsey on here, fr jones. I sold my 340 on ebay to part fund and truly wish i had done sooner. I mainly use for firewood and when works saw is too gutless.
  20. Met jonsey and the guys from Aspen - great to meet all. Oh and yeah the rain was quite heavy for a while so hid in catering.
  21. First time i will have been there, coming down from aberdeenshire in scotland. Looking forward to it.
  22. could just be me not seeing it right but doesnt look like it will take large diamater rings. be worth checking what max diamater it can take is first. The ebay found home made one i have will take pretty much any diamater, so far the only limiting factor has been how much weight two of us can lift onto it.
  23. I would be offering it for sale at a bargain basement price, plenty of folks buy it. I burned tons and tons of conifer last winter and it kept me plenty warm. Oh and just realised how far away from me you are sadly! Would offer some cash if were a lot closer.
  24. are you guys going to be at the saltex show in september? Is anyone off here going who fancies meeting up for a pint or two, am going on the tues so will be down at heathrow mon evening, tues at show and tues evening at heathrow, back up wed am
  25. I found a good physio after over 15 years of working and back pain, went to him when it got so bad i was stuck in bed in agony, worst in my life so did 999 to get to hospital. Took hours and hrs of drugs there to get moving again. Physio spotted my problem inside 2 mins, told me how to resolve it and now i see him sometimes once a week for a month or so when it hurts, or not for a year or so but the day to day pain is completely gone. Turns out my right leg is 4cm shorter than left one so always putting pressure on sciatic (bad spelling) nerve in lower back. Boots with a 4cm added sole and all good. A good physio is worth every penny!
