  1. im a 32" waist and small stretch airs are loose on me. wear them a bit higher than other pants and it stops me stretching the crotch when i stretch my legs so no rips. really comfy in them,a medium would be too big.
  2. i would agree that a prune in the growing season is a better alternative, as pruning now and in the winter months leaves the tree with a wound that it is not actively able to protect and begin to compartmentalise. The summer pruning, although it may induce some bleeding, which is just rising sap, IMO is a much better choice as the tree can begin to deal with the wound ASAP and it can 'seal off' the area from pathogens that would take advantage of the dormant tree to break through compartment barriers to decay the tree.
  3. It's the little black one, that was one of my first books!
  4. Prunus will do me. Couldn't think of it! I knew it was a rosaceae! My initial thought was malus, but my gut wasn't on it!
  5. There's a green waste site local to me that I give all the rubbish I dont want to. Saves me loads of farting round with rotten stuff and rubbish logs. Chip goes in a big pile at the hard and logs in another big pile in the barn. Sweepings have their own pile that then gets bulked together and taken to aforementioned green waste site
  6. Where can I get the VTA handbook from tony? Wouldn't mind a copy, who's the author?
  7. not as of yet, although i will certainly have a go once im a bit less busy with assignments and reports! (and walking round vets with a nutter who likes to wear fung as a hat )
  8. I've been out to look at this hedgerow. I'm thinking malus sp. but I want to be sure. Anybody? These are the best pics I have!
  9. was the work to remove trees just so they could print more of those reports?
  10. you will also be taught a double fishermans so you can create a prussik loop from a length of rope. i think id struggle doing that now!
  11. had a browse around the CD now, simple layout, i think its pretty good, the best feature being the glossary and the ability to click on the long words and terms specific to the area and gives you an explanation, invaluable, ive learnt a good bit already! i think id be a while going through them all though!
  12. It's not P. syringae for sure. That burr could be from insect damage, however I'm not too hot on this. Hopefully somebody else knows?
  13. I want this http://dmmprofessional.com/uploads/documents/Swivels.pdf
  14. Any pictures? Ash canker can be caused by Pseudomonas syringe pv. Fraxinii, however your burr could be something different.
  15. I use a helly Hansen warm thermal, slightly thicker than the dry. Much better even if it's a bit chilly as it keeps the wind out.
  16. I don't know how I'd be able to find a use for that. But I want one!
  17. I kinda wanted a failure to happen while we were there today! Would have been awesome!
  18. I'm gutted about the green elf cup shot! I thought I had it focused! You can tell they are there though. My fave find today
