  1. I bought a 4 ton (supposedly) one of these for £20. Use it for pulling stumps. I've not had an issue with it. Could do with its reach being more than 10ft though! Good if you ripping up small connies with something close to anchor to. The release mechanism is finicky though.
  2. How dare you call me a dirty northerner, i only had a bath last week!
  3. I think that confirms the theory, tony really is a nutter!
  4. Yeah all cheques made to my name. I'm just concerned if the bank would cotton on to it and investigate, don't suppose they would. I am registered self employed and turned over less than 8k since April, as I'm not even managing a 5k tax threshold wage, I don't pay tax on that yet!
  5. I'll second Quercus ilex too
  6. Pa1 is just the paperwork side of pesticides, if you only have that then legally you can't spray! I've got pa1, pa2a and pa6a. The courses do give some handy knowledge!
  7. I would not want to go out gritting and snow clearing in that!
  8. I had a sit in this at the arb show. I wanted to take it home! As soon as I can afford a mog, I'm having one!
  9. I do all my banking in one current account with a separate savings account that I try to keep topping up. Im with Halifax, never had an issue, went overdrawn accidentally and as it wasn't arranged I was about to get charged. I phoned up and managed to get it reversed. That was about 2007 though and things have changed! Is there any point in me opening a separate account to do my work related funds? I can't really see much point in it!
  10. I should have jumped on this sooner! I got fistulina straight away! you'd slap my wrists if I hadnt! I'll have a look inthe week when I get more time on the pc. I'll try and get these!
  11. How did the van not see a bright yellow mob? The nugget! I'm surprised it didn't drive over it. Looks like it was well on its way to!
  12. We did think this also, most people have towbehinds so there will be little demand for a similar machine. Stuff like the greenmech cs100s and the like have some demand as they are good for awkward access. We are thinking of buying a 12" that is available. There would be demand on large jobs as it gets it done easy. But that's looking at £350 for it on site for a day.
  13. i use a br420, compared to the handhelds the backpack ones are a lot better. the br600 is the top model now and is very powerful! i like the ability to shift more, especially sawdust that has been rained on on tarmac and flags that wont move, the blower does a good job at shifting.
  14. £10/ft of length should see you right!
  15. im still a while off a new saw, my 260 is only 07 with years left in it. But thats a very promising review, i might just buy one anyway!
  16. Bump. No takers?
  17. Some bits for my pc, camera and carbon spikes
  18. I need a guy tomorrow. Anybody willing to work for the morning. Day rate paid. Ideal for any lads looking for some experience. St Helens area. Let me know 07516348002 cheers!
  19. That wouldn't work. You need to drill a hole in each one the right size for the trees to go onto the blocks. We buy logs in for the stands. Pre drilled and our machine is set to turn them down to the right size.
  20. how Ironic! ill get my coat....
  21. crikey, theyd be some boots to fill
  22. we had thought about doing it ourselves, charging enough in one sale/hire/rent whichever you wnt to call it to cover the cost of the tree if it was sold as a cut tree, so then if its brought back knackered youve not wasted money, but then if it comes back nice you sell it again next year for th same money, it worked out you could potentially sell the same tree 5 times and still have the tree!
  23. i look forward to meeting up with you again tony, i owe you a few pints for what youve shown and taught me! there may be an opportunity for another data collection trip in the new year! purely data collection this time! I cant wait for 2012, its going to be EPIC
