Had a go on SRT today, first on Ian flatters' unicender then on a lock jack and RW. And WOW, it's super efficient! Something I could see myself enjoying once I've got the hang of it! One thing I did ask is setting top anchors but still not got my head around fully. Do you bag in as high as possible then DRT to the top as normal? Or can you SRT to the top? Thinking about it DRT seems the more sensible option if its a bit of a difficult crown to get a good anchor in. Once you have found your top point, do you have to pull all your rope through to set a base anchor or do you just tie a running bowline to the top? I understand there are load advantages I.e. base anchor is 2x your weight on the anchor point where a running bowline is just 1x. Then it's retreivability, would a throw line attached to the bowline do for retrieval? Why don't you nomads travel up norf and climb up here

I think they are half a ton lift? I'd much prefer a boxer. That with a little muck grab sort of thing would be invaluable. Building an Arb trolley sort of trailer for one would mean some super productivity on long drag jobs.

My dad got one of these in January. It has pulled a 3t digger on a trailer and it coped well. The love mpg reading did drop to 1.5 at some points though! Avg about 30 doing a mix of towing and driving normally. A nice truck to drive and certainly seems up to the job.

I have some ash that is about bang on 3' wide and probably between 8-10" thick if your totally stuck. -

I do enjoy the stihl 362 I have and the 660 with the dual port exhaust puts a smile on your face I am normally stihl all the way but do like using the new 560xp!

I had Gareth in climbing for me a few weeks back. He's not the most experienced or a super quick climber but was very confident and got the job done well and has great potential to improve and become a good climber. Very quick on the ground and good with a saw. I was very pleased. Would happily have him in again. Cheers Gareth. Sorry for the delay in getting this up!

I've got pa2a On my card that's the basic one. Couldn't tell you exactly what it is off the top of my head though. The certificate I've not touched in a while would though!

its bits and bobs, seems to be mainly fuel im buying, all that money going and only an empty tank to show for it! bought a few bits off jonesie recently but nothing to shout about.

air streams are good, narrow boots that are ideal in right crowns but i found them uncomfy after days on the ground, sore/aching feet. Got the zermatts and all those problems went! very sturdy boot, although i think they will need a resole by christmas, got them in october 12.

Pa2 is a mounted/powered boom applicator so from quad sprayers to 24m boom sprayers. Pa6 is hand held application so stem injection/knapsacking. With specialisms for water application and other areas.

So gaffing out unexpectedly say on a dead/dying tree with loose bark making you cut you lanyard or cut away strop somehow means you deserve to die? Yes it should be backed up. But how do you expect the unexpected? Bit insensitive...

My cs100 throws chip like that anyway. First job I had it on was chipping into a 14t ag trailer from the rear. It was firing stuff over the headboard which was a fair distance away (25-30'?) and twice the height of the chipper. Was finding stuff 6 foot past the trailer and further

Chris try turner grounds care (Macclesfield) and also Balmers garden machinery (Burnley). Might be able to help you out. Balmers hire a quadchip to us for £50/week.

Check the plate. Generally HCPU models have a seperate tub and the non HCPU the tub is built into the back of the cab. HCPU has a seperate cab altogether and the tub sticks out.

I honestly think you should stick to being a groundsman for now and try and climb when you can. Getting your ticket doesn't mean you will be the worlds best climber in a week. Nor will it mean you will be climbing every day. I have had my ticket for over 3 years and still don't climb every day!

I never thought mine was cheaply made or flimsy. When you've finished cutting in between a few pieces do you drop it or lower it or place it straight on the clip?
