  1. you can do facetime with them now with the intro of the cameras i got the ipad 2, best purchase ever, used it everyday, replaced my laptop and i hardly need my desktop now!
  2. I'll remember that chilli tip! We've got some super hot chillis growing in the poly tunnel. Normal ones from tesco are 60,000 scoville units. These ones are 1million! That would cause some serious discomfort on the crown jewels!
  3. Jon I think you've just relayed the email that apple sent to all 3 of my emails to us! I think they will be pretty cool. Can't wait to have a go in the apple shop. Shame they are silly money!
  4. nice job, very smooth rigging! is that blaze i see as a rigging rope?
  5. Which model of the greenmech are you going to look at? I have the 18hp cs100 and I am made up with it. It may be slightly more than others but having the height of the discharge chute makes it handy for filling pickups. I find that the cs100 has a good amount of power for what will fit in it. Be careful with small logs, they tend to bounce off the blades but filling it with brash and logs will force the through. You can't just bash it all in like a roller fed chipper, but adapt your work styles to suit the chipper and it will work a treat. The electric start on the 18hp makes it easier! Keep the belts tight, and it performs well.
  6. Obviously this is paid. If you climb fast enough I'll be happy to stay on the ground but have no qualms if I need to do some myself
  7. iphone here, loyal to the brand! android is what runs on the samsung phones
  8. got a job on friday, want to climb it myself but want to get another guy in to do some climbing to ease off the workload on myself, an ideal time for anybody who wants a bit more experience! st helens area contact me on here or by phone 07516348002 cheers
  9. I'd be there with my little cs100 for probably 3 days! Then I'd take the stem down!
  10. Oyster mushroom. Pleurotus ostreatus. If my memory serves me well. I've got one in my container that I took off a Sambucus nigra a while ago. It's dried out and still looks half decent
  11. I was unsure how well they pollard tbh. As it's not something I see a lot.
  12. I would dig it out but it's a conifer and would have some big roots. The reason for a grinder is because the stump won't fit out the door when it's all out! I'll dig a couple of test holes when I take the top bit off to see what it's like. There's a travis Perkins in St helens so I'll give them a buzz.
  13. It looks like one of this false tree phone masts! Surprised to see it come out so vigorous!
  14. Are there any that will fit through a standard door? Ive got a small stump to grind and the only access is through the garage which then leads through 2 other doors. Does anybody have one and also what's a guide price fo one for a morning? If I can't get one I'll call stump busters but I'd rather the cash in my pocket!
  15. Tie two fisher mans at one end, wrap your rope in a vt 3 wrap 3 braid configuration and then tie another fisher mans, cut off rest of tail and tape up to stop them getting in the way.
  16. I have the same view of Steve. It is basically a hc with a hole missing, but I find it easier, plus the gate on a petzl crab fits through the holes so it's less of a mindgake to sort things out. For that, and it's awesome blue and black colouring, I use the stein!
  17. There are already a number of threads on this! Stihl for me!
  18. I kind of echo that. My view on this is what if your reaching out to a branch tip to cut it and because your stretching you'll stretch the bungee, if you let go, sharp thing comes to pay a visit. Is this an issue anywhere?
  19. I'll vouch for Tom he's a good lad. Will work hard and learn anything.
  20. I plan to do this with my lock jack. It really does make those long hauls easier. You don't need to tend your slack before you pause, plus as it's only 50cm you can reach your hitch. A pantin and hand ascenders on your line under your hitch would make it even easier!
  21. Pic 1&3 on the failure pics, gano FB and pic 2 is the rot caused in their decay column I'm sure Hama will love this. A proper inclusion failure!
  22. well, they do say that once you do a quarter of a million, it just goes downhill. Dont know who says it, but it seems true. the week isnt over yet pete, theres still a few more days for stuff to break
  23. all workshop manuals here: Stihl Spare Parts
  24. another way of doing this is to just add a 50cm sling between you and your HC/VT system, then it works the same way for ascending, for working you just clip the bottom carabiner back to your bridge
  25. I love the gsxr bikes, something about them oozes cool! I'm a quad man myself! Saving up for a yamaha raptor, might have it in the next 10 years!
