Heres one of my best achievements. Passing my degree, i never originally planned to go to uni at all! Although ill do graduate again next year and hopefully have another great achievement, it still feels pretty special to be half way there!

I have a pickup with a chip box and I leave the chipper strapped onto the trailer so then it doesn't move around when being used, the straps don't interfere with the use of it, normally I take the back one off so you can stand next to the chipper in the trailer for easy feeding and operation. I'll have to take a picture to show you, im looking for pedestrian roller trailers that I can adapt for the chipper, which should be easy enough and I've seen it done. The little trailer is good for now as it will still fit tools and even logs in, with the chipper in it leaves me with 250kg spare payload in the trailer. The welding of tie down points would be a good idea -

As in the other thread, it's well built and so far since owning it from early march my only issue with maintaining it is that the bolts underneath are blooming awkward to undo! the main issue with using it on a trailer is that there are no decent tie down points so you have to improvise, i use an ifor williams p7 trailer which os only small, i strap it round the chute to the front of the trailer and have the feed hopper open and strap it through the handle at the back, ive found that is the best way for me to keep it from moving around too much -
Very well, couple of teething problems with knackered belts that only got worse when I got it but put a new set on and it was like a different machine. Sprayed some belt dressing on and kept them tight and it is surprisingly good! 4" is a fair size piece and although it takes time feeding bit bits and is difficult to feed logs without thinner branches and leaves on it's just technique when sending that means you can feed them easily.

Not yet. Look close at the picture of the foliage, there are spines on the leaves very similar in design to other ilex species.

Herbicide Application Rates and re application

What's the active ingredient? If it's glyphosate at 360ish g/l then 500ml for a 16l 4 gal knapsack is how we applied it. A higher rate of glyphosate in the concentrate, I think a higher rate glyph is in the 500-600g/l range, can't remember exactly. We used 300ml of that per knapsack. It's application rate is about 5l/hectare 1/7 parts water would be 2.2l of chem in a knapsack which is a LOT and is an illegal amount afaik. with regards to runoff and leaching into watercourses. Glyph isn't super dangerous to us ground dwellers but fishies don't like it! I would recommend doubling what I mentioned here, 1l for lower rate and 600ml for higher rate glyph. Hope that's some help -
The electric start is a godsend on these little chippers! You don't realise how big a piece you can put in. Keep the belts tight and blades sharp and it's brilliant, feeding gets a little awkward with bigger stuff if there's lots of branches but it does manage. You get used to knowing what will and won't go in easily. Get a big wheelbarrow that's a similar width of the chipper, a wheelbarrow full of chip isn't very heavy and you can chip into it in back gardens then. A ramp into the van or even lift it in if you can, two people would manage, then just tip it in. Fingers crossed for a new toy!

Woohoo another converter! Is that the 14 or 18? I'm jealous of the trailer. Wouldn't mind one of them myself now! Looking at pedestrian roller trailers but can't seem to see any for good money! Just remember to keep that chute clear. Takes nothing to stop it starting up! And it's a right pain when that happens too!

As you squeeze the seeds and the sticky stuff comes out with it you just stick that in a union somewhere on an apple or poplar, there another species it grows on too but can't remember. People seem surprised you can and it's so simple. It's semi parasitic and is generally spread by birds as they wipe their beaks on branches to get them off. I should have a go myself really and see if I can manage any!

I have poison ivy with a lockjack and find itself tends well when your high enough. Doesnt need much height.

Cool. Mistletoe is an odd thing! I always wondered where it came from and then saw huge 7' balls in a couple of poplars. When we sell it at Christmas I encourage people to grow their own!

We've got a pigeon print on our kitchen window. Makes me laugh every time!

I second the secateurs, I did one and found I was using those more than the silky. Much quicker and a cleaner cut on a lot of the smallest stuff! I've got a few side reductions coming up and I still get a bit wary on them. Having a good guy on the ground is key to help get your eye in and making sure they don't look daft!

When I used our crew cab nav there was only just enough room for gear in the back seats. I was thinking king cab navara for myself but there's even less room in that. I would go for a single cab like cts and build a toolbox into the tipper

No point in calling police tbh, just get straight onto the council and relevant people to get the ring barked tree down. The first is just mature sycamore bark, it flakes in it's old age, kinda like skin

What length per season would you consider slow/medium/fast growth rates? Im looking for info on a couple of things and all i see is slow medium and fast, i wouldnt mind a length! i know it can vary due to site and conditions but surely someone has an average? id think <6" is slow 6-12" medium and 12"+ is fast, or is that too much?

If you cut the top off a chilli, clean it out inside and then roast them in the oven like that till soft, stuff them with mascarpone cheese mixed with a few herb and stuff. The chilli gives you a nice kick and aren't too crunchy and the cheese helps to put the fire out!
