  8. First of all apologies to anyone named Rowan:biggrin: I put a load of freshly cut rowan logs in my inglenook a few weeks ago ( the ones underneath the round logs in the pic ) and they stank the room out:thumbdown: Is rowan known for this?
  9. I agree totally with that. I just do not understand the people who process straight into their trucks as seasoned just because it has been felled for a year or so
  10. Top flaps? Does that mean they have a flap attached to keep the logs dry?
  11. Hi Steve .. When will the maintenance be finished on the firewood site so we can log into our accounts again?
  12. I have placed adverts in glossy mags, done leaflet drops, advertised in local papers, put adverts in shop windows, advertised on the internet, sign written the truck, all to varying degrees of success and often not in line with the cost of each individual method. Word of mouth and customer recommendation have proved very successful What does everyone else think is the best way to advertise firewood?
  13. Hi Tom.. The thread about putting the motor on the Eagle wasnt mine but in answer to your question its a great little machine. You have to be careful with the cone splitter on knotty bits and the biggest problem is sawdust blowing back in your face as the vents become blocked very easily.
  14. One day I am going to get this finished
  15. But now its been sold to a fellow Arbtalker I assume once we have rolled up our trousers, bumped knees, locked thumbs and stuck out our tongues the deal will be done

  18. I`ve sent an e mail explaining that there isnt any money in logs and just wondered maybe they could help a little .
  19. I used to do a bit of power knitting but it was tough on the wrists and the fairy cake baking was ok but if you let that icing set on your fingers ooh it stings.
  20. Do you think I should stay up with the baseball bat just in case my daughter was not amused.
  21. The horse wasnt stolen. The mane was plaited twice and I have heard since that a few have been stolen in this area recently. It is a nice piebald cob type desirable to certain people that I am not allowed to mention

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
