  1. I sold my business about three years ago and intended to speculate with property and have firewood as a sideline but firewood seems to have taken over my life
  2. I`ve derailed my own thread
  3. I had a builder go bust on me.. I had given him alot of work on my properties and introduced him to alot of specialised work. He had a fuel account at my garages and because I knew him I did not take a bond. I knew he was struggling but didnt want to put pressure on assuming he would always sort it if the worst came to the worse. He didnt but that lesson was worth what I lost I still speak to him.
  4. Hi Simon I remember you mentioning that in another post and thought you were a little to laid back about it. I hear that there are mediators in these matters
  5. With optimism in the air I suddenly related `we` Firewood Merchants to wildebeests..... they kick around getting skinny waiting for the rains to come when food will be plentiful .... just like our lean times in the summer really and then the chill comes
  6. Get a licence and buy my FAC Mk2 Jon, you will have alot more fun
  7. Some bits date back to the1700s so inevitably got some damp but its just one of those houses thats colder inside than out. The only thing that has ever worked to warm it is the wood burners .. just about to install a third.. once again I wish I was one of my customers
  8. My house is very cold and there are not many nights that I dont light a fire... I wish I was one of my customers
  9. Thinking of selling mine and someone has showed interest
  10. Dam.. I thought I might have two people fighting over mine then
  11. Jon are you saying that you cant get hold of a Theoben?
  12. I have had that e mail today as well. Not had time to read all the details yet.
  13. I would imagine at the moment its a win win win situation for the developer at the moment. In my opinion options are advantageous for the developer leaving the seller sitting twiddling their thumbs hoping and unable to move forward. You could always turn it around and sell it with an uplift clause.
  14. Jon your selling to many logs, new bike, new phone, new car and now new gun I have the Mk3 which I keep meaning to sell but have never used the Mk4. I also have a Theoben Rapid Mk2 FAC also which I never use
  15. No but I make a point of telling them that it is quality hardwood ready to burn. It seems that people are only interested in price and then are surprised when they go for the cheapest option and get rubbish
  16. Getting numerous calls enquiring about firewood at present and everyone asks about quantity and price but no one asks anything about the quality
  17. Woodline 16 ton on John Deere 35hp
  18. A friend of mine had a group in their late teens say something disgusting to his wife in front of his children in the local store and when one of his young daughters let slip what had happened he left six of them on the pavement and explained to them that he knew where they lived and if there was any reprisals he would kick their doors down and kick seven shades out of them and then do the same to their fathers for breeding them
