  1. Thanks I will give them a try tomorrow.
  2. I am changing the way that I insure my vehicles ( Transit truck and BMW 335 Diesel twin turbo sport coupe ) and have been stunned by the quote. Any pointers to any insurers would be much appreciated.
  3. I like that:thumbup1: will be on my i pod soon if its available.
  4. You need to beef up your security Jon it wont stop there.
  5. Jon are you saying that these were stolen from the trailer after it was torched?
  6. Hey its something that was forwarded to me on the net and of course as we all know everything on the internet is true but I am sure it is a play on statistics to make a valid point.
  7. Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees but has the following employee statistics.......... 29 have been accused of spouse abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 9 have been accused of writing bad cheques 17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year and collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!! Yes - it's the 635 members of the House of Commons. And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country!!
  8. So true Steve. When I used to own petrol stations I remember on one redevelopment I realised that the only way that the site was going to re-open on time was by me getting out there with a brush and shovel and leading by example. It was so funny watching all the reps walking past this scruffy bloke on the forecourt to my staff in their shirts and ties skirts and blouses in the shop being sent back out to me with a puzzled look on their faces
  9. Ann and Ron Haslam are friends and my son is helping out at their race school at Silverstone before going to uni and Ron gave him a pillion ride a few weeks ago. This is not my sons ride but it shows why he had a big grin on his face...
  10. It's 2012 and it's the Olympics in London . A Scotsman, an Englishman and an Irishman want to get in, but they haven't got tickets. The Scotsman picks up a manhole cover, tucks it under his arm and walks to the gate. " McTavish , Scotland " he says, "Discus" and in he walks. The Englishman picks up a length of scaffolding and slings it over his shoulder. " Waddington-Smythe , England " he says, "Pole vault" and in he walks. The Irishman looks around and picks up a roll of barbed wire and tucks it under his arm. "O'Malley, Ireland " he says, "Fencing."
  11. I`m sorry but I am still struggling with this. Do you mind me asking what type of hardwood it is? If quality seasoned hardwood is available at £46 a cube cut split and seasoned I may as well sell the tractor splitter and processor.
  12. Me to..... but I wont be buying of course because their is no money in firewood
  13. `Properly managed British woodlands` apparently
  14. And another £50 off if they let you have the logs
  15. Yes but to give advice you need to have done it not be going to do it.
  16. Fahrenheit, whilst I wish you all the best with your new venture it is probably early days to be trying to teach `your grandmother to suck eggs` ( I am referring to the more experienced firewood retailers on here not me) when you have not actually made any deliveries at this point.
  17. One of the main problems with the firewood trade is the fly by night amateurs who think wow I can get x for a bag of wood which they sell dirty wet and unseasoned and misrepresent the quantity. I saw a hand written sign yesterday `Logs £35 a ton bag` I wonder how big that bag must be to contain a ton of seasoned wood.
  18. sum ov yew mey bea pleesed two no that hif yew poste threw google krome hit has hay spel cheking fucilitee ( it is handy as we all make mistakes when typing quickly ) ..... but beware its american spelling
  19. I was astounded not to see any Firewood merchants in the Sunday Times rich list
  20. Rowan is very good firewood:confused1:
