  3. Your reply should have been that had you increased your prices by 15% as the gas supplier did you would have been happy to give a 5% reduction
  4. How do you know that he was selling the logs?
  5. Seven loads booked for this week so far. Not enough but could be worse. Mind you it is only Tuesday
  6. We did this just before Christmas. The plumber just tapped off the gas supply , took the fire out and we then put a grate in its place, simples not a great deal of heat but it looks nice.
  7. WRONG keep the element of surprise. Dont warn him or you may never catch him.
  8. When I first had my stoves installed and before I became the `God of Firewood` that I am today I processed a fallen lime tree from my bottom field with an axe and it was easy splitting huge rings..... but then again I am sat watching Worlds Strongest Man and thinking ..big lads but not very strong
  9. Lime burns just like ash in my opinion.
  10. I took him three sample logs (cedar, poplar and willow) when I delivered his order and gave him a lecture
  11. I received a repeat order this week from a customer who said that he was extremely happy with his first load but asked would the next one be all hardwood as his last load contained some softwood which burnt to fast. I said that it should not have contained any softwood but maybe the odd log could have slipped through (may contain nuts). It turns out that he was referring to the odd piece of poplar and lime. Anyone else had the same?
  12. I have had DGM 989 for the last 26 years and coincidentally thats my initials

  17. Just seen an article on the news saying that wet logs sold to a family has been blamed for a house fire which resulted in the death of children. This puts a whole new light on quality.
  18. Delivered over a hundred in the last four days and sold many more.
  19. Shoot me down in flames but if its processed straight from the stack then its not seasoned and ready to burn. Anything that I leave to stand in rings or cord for a year when split still reads around 35%.

  21. Its the cold weather that causes your symptoms. Try rubbing generous amounts of vaseline onto your hands at night and sleep in the polythene garage forecourt gloves for a few nights.
