  10. Has roughly 30% dieback mainly in the lower branches. It has also been block paved in completely sometime in last 5 yrs. Also has large amounts of sap coming from every previous pruning wound. Bark lesions raised looking similar to a canker exuding lots of resin any suggestions welcome. Customer does not want to lift paving/drive up. Also would the wood be any good to mill? Sorry not great pics

  14. just removed catalpa of similar size and condition 4m away from a perfectly healthy one. no obvious reason for its decline i did suggest pollard and reassess next yr. i wondered if the cold winter had contributed?
  15. roasting in sunny lincolnshire:biggrin:
  16. Every contract will be slightly different but as good practise i would suggest biodegradable chain oil. buy from clarkes also its cheaper than usual chain oils at the moment as this is the only fuel that will be thrown onto the site in significant quantities. aspen is good for hse requirments as far as operator is concerned but expensive. i only use it in hedgetrimmers as it makes big difference and doesnt need draining off if machine is not used regularly.
  17. you could try asking the client if they have any old photos showing the tree. might show if the lean has increased.
  18. big shot. takes bit of practise i had 12oz bag hit truck screen on my 2nd go somehow it didnt break just left nice imprint we saw on the way home.
  19. Sorry i was not having a dig at the pro's. Just the chancers Shortage of good sweeps round here, last one i used made more mess than i expected then when i paid him and asked for the certificate/receipt to prove to landlord that i have had chimneys swept (just in case of fires) sharply informed me he is not registered thats why it was only £50 and bolted out the door. What should i be looking for as regards to qualifications also what sort of money should i be paying for 2 chimneys. thanks Andy
