  1. And Mark, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats on boy
  2. Just how much are 700's from plant and quarry ? and would you class them as reds or greens , Thanks.
  3. I could go on , but forgot to mention the best South West TO works for South Somerset District Council . Now he really does know his trees, and once worked on the tools, they always make the best TO's.
  4. Sorry thats how things work with your LPA, mine is very different, I have two passionate TO's and know of a few other ones in different areas who share the same passion and interest in trees. I am also a tree warden and involved with the LPA, advising when asked, Highways are also just an email or phone call away and all respond really well to any of my concerns raised , Anyway I do know areas can differ as can TO's but I consider myself and the people who live in Somerset and Dorset and not forgetting Mendip District Council to be very lucky. I wont name TO,s but all as mentioned provide a fantastic service.
  5. I ALWAYS do, but go about it in a different way, I ask if its ok for me to have a look at what ever is growing , just out of interest, then once they see me having a close look curiosity always gets the better of them, then I just go into great detail about what it is and what its likely to do, I don't scare them as its impossible to predict exactly when a tree will fail and I always make sure I leave them with just my name and the name and contact number of the LA tree officer and suggest that they contact them for further advice, I try not to tout for any work and find thats the best approach. If they don't come and ask me about it I just leave when I'v finished looking, if its a danger to the public I report it to the LA and let them notify the owner.
  6. Thats cool, whats the soil like with you, I'm on clay, so the Reds do really well, did think about mixing Reds as the main cutters and Green teeth as the secondary cutters but using the Reds with the edge taken off them works well for me as secondary cutters.
  7. I will get TMT to post photos, hes good at that, 18 teeth total and evenly set out at 3 different positions , 6 straight pockets which do most of the cutting as they are set out furthest on the wheel, the others are on angled pockets which wear more from the sweep, I keep the 6 straight cutters completely sharp and as they slightly dull turn them, once used 3 times I will get a second use of them on the angled pockets, as they seem not to be so affected by being dull. Tend not to use the auto function switch as it can be a little slow but the controls are really user friendly, on buttons, a bit like what I would think a nentendo game station , like typing. Best tip of all, preparation, I always take a little extra time having a scratch around for stones first and cut as low as possible with a 66 with a small bar as its a lot quicker to sharpen.
  8. I just couldn't work out how you new about my wardrobe but back to the teeth, after fitting from new and using it is just two turns, and I just replace, once I get a load of fully used teeth I will just stick them on ebay. Orange plant are the best to buy from.
  9. Nothing to do with all the Cider stains down your smock is it
  10. I think if you are thinking of alternative cost cutting, maybe you are not charging enough money, I just grind and rotate as soon as each tooth dulls , not after every stump, but I will inspect, but at the end of each day, and it then has a full wheel service ready for the next day, by the way, really impressed with my Jo Beau B31-110 using red greenteeth 700's i'v turned into a ninja with it, fantastic machine, thanks Paul at Vermeer .
  11. If your accountant is good then yes, its promotion of your company, why not. In the eyes of the greedy tax man, the more money you make the more taxes for him, speculate to accumulate.
  12. The Birds, love all that birds flying in hair stuff.
  13. Now I was going to say something along those lines but thought it mite be insensitive, best get a strimmer guard round it
  14. The best cure for that is to lie on the ground , on your back, and get a lady to urinate on your face, the acidic content of her urine will relieve the severity of the sting in no time at all,
  15. O yes.. had the gonads removed about two years ago followed by a penis inversion, happy to say that the Dragon fly now fits a treat.
  16. Sorry its a chore, and even I can be a little blunt, unhelpful ?? Over the years I have been dealing with them they have been a wealth of information and assisted me on a number of projects, sorry you,v been disappointed , I believe they are the UK number one experts for Fruit trees. Local verities of Apple they really are the best in the UK. For all advice.
  17. Thats a fair one but when some one asks the question on here its normally as a result of the tree being situated close to a target, even of a small value, the question is normally asked with some background hidden from the agenda, Meripilus giganteus if found and concerned about any targets, TAKE IT DOWN.
  18. Looks like what I would call a fantastic burn, something I would retain to toast my own toes on while sipping a really lovelly doubly box of red wine enjoy.
  19. Hello Sir, :001_smile:give Thornhayes Nursery a call in Cullompton, they will have all the answers regarding fruit trees. Planting spec, soil preferences and root stock tolerance and regional varieties.
  20. Simple for me, I would rather look at the office block than that over grown money demanding ,none native , unattractive green blot on the landscape, by the sounds of what you are trying to achieve I would advice removal.
  21. And yes, ............................ I am a dirty old man
  22. If you have been touched by the hand of God , Dionysus touch Adonis , it maters not what you choose to adorn your Pedum with. you just rock even if you are an old y.
  23. From the end of spring, my shoe wardrobe meter morphs from chainsaw boot, worn every day and to the pub to Sandals and black ankle socks, they have even been nicknamed my snake catches as on all the photos my kids take of grass snakes which I have found , they appear on the photos next to the snake, I even go fishing in them, they feel great , don't like to go commando in them as I feel a bit naked. so best worn with socks in my opinion .
