    Down rating trucks

The truck is a perfect fit for the work I do. It's just the paperwork that doesn't fit.

    Down rating trucks

The 3.5 trucks only weigh about 150kg less.

    Down rating trucks

Well I did get a 5.2t truck down rated to 3.5. It weighs 3t empty. But really does the job well. The guy who sold it did all the paperwork so no stress at all!
  4. Silky hand saws. Certainly beats carrying a bowsaw round the tree on a piece string! Also static multi plat. Bye bye bouncy three strand.
  5. Alot of our waste end's up being sent to shithole places as you call it! But our own waste is getting into the sea too. There is an old landfill from the 60s along the Thames estuary that is being exposed by coastal erosion and the plastic and other toxic waste including asbestos is washing out to sea every high tide!
  6. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2195953-what-londons-police-can-learn-from-glasgows-approach-to-knife-crime/ To sum it up. If you exclude people and treat them like shit then they have nothing to loose and do desperate and stupid things.
  7. Hi all I have a customer who wants some hedge work done later in the year. Any one who is interested please pm me. Kind regards Dan
  8. I do like the idea of big shiny whizzy trains tho.
  9. The trouble is that it doesn't even do that as it doesn't go into the centre of either Birmingham or London! So by the time you travel from Central Birmingham to the hs2 station you will have lost that time anyway.
  10. Yeah, but not without any jam on it
  11. We had been asked to fell a small tree on one of the greens near the centre of Cambridge and someone hung up bits of toast in it to attract bat's so we couldn't fell it!

    Tool thefts

I was talking to a retired copper who said the police don't have a national database! So if your kit is nicked in Suffolk then moved to Cambridgeshire and recovered by plod they can only check it there. And need to send information requests to other forces if they think its come from outside the county.

  14. The only film I keep going back to is the original wicker man
  15. I'll ask her later, but I'm not sure how involved she really is. I think she's lost interest in it over the years! But often when i go to visit it doesn't seem to be working due to low water levels.
  16. In New Mills, Derbyshire they have a community hydro plant. My Mum bought some shares at the start as it seamed a good idea. but I'm not sure how well it works to be honest. http://www.torrshydro.org/
  17. Its a strange survey, I don't think there is a skills shortage but it doesn't seem to allow for that opinion to be voiced.
  18. Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like its sorted now.
  19. Well it was worth an ask! The jobs in Onehouse
  20. Hi I'm taking down a couple of Poplars next week and don't really want the wood. Free to a good home, I'll happily deliver it locally too. Probably about 3 transit loads. It's you area isn't it @Steve Bullman? Let me know i can tip it on your drive if you like!!

    Down rating trucks

I just looked up the kerb weight of an Iveco 35c12. 2150kg with no body on of course the Iveco 65c18 is 2350kg according to the spec sheet. I was surprised it's not much of a difference really.

Still just mulling things over anyway

    Down rating trucks

Yes I'm sure it'll be next to nothing, but it's not much on a 3.5t crew cab anyway and some of the bigger weight trucks seem to go for a lot less money.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a max weight allowed for the empty truck ?
