  1. Surely if the people democratically choose centralisation of power, then its OK? Some countries have a great record of organising themselves for the benefit of their population.
  2. I think you'll find that the nazis weren't socialist. Hiltler took over a group with socialists, but as soon as he gained control he used the money from some big industrialists to take control and then sent the socialists and communist faction of the group to the concentration camps. He also outlawed the trade unions.
  3. I was on a job once and the old boy we were working for brought out tea and an unopened packet of biscuits. One of the lads opened the biscuits and tucked in. He then spat them out all over the garden! "Fooking hell they're foul" he said. Had a look at the package, 8 years out of date! 🤣🤣🤣
  4. Lots of flooding round here too (rattlesden). It took me 2.5hrs to do a 20 minute drive this afternoon.

  7. Well said that man!
  8. I had an insulated double wall flue fitted in a thatched house. It had to be vented in the room above the stove and also 2 vent bricks in the chimney stack above the roof line. As per hetas regs at that time.
  9. Hi guys. I'm based near Bury St Edmunds and looking to fill a couple of days a week. I've got nearly 30 years experience a level 3 qualification and loads of tickets etc. Own climbing kit and saws etc. 07865 399401 Dan
  10. They aren't ce marked so can't be sold in the UK. They won't ship them directly to the UK anymore. I got a friend in oz to send some on to me. Otherwise I don't think it's possible anymore!
  11. I was talking to a friend (who is often in the know) today about the energy ratings on houses and how poorly insulated most of the housing stock is here in the uk. He thinks that the government aren't going to regulate the house builders and landlords, but they are looking at telling mortgage lenders that their portfolios must have an average c rating across all properties. Its and interesting thought thats for sure.
  12. Try leaving the chain break off when the saw isn't running, so that the chain pulls around the bar instead of cutting the trousers. Just remember to put it back on before starting the saw.
  13. These are my system, I'm happy to show them to anyone who asks.
  14. Well how about everyone who is an AA member should email them to say they will not renew their membership over this matter. That may help motivate them to fight our corner!

  16. Spit works well for some reason
  17. I wonder if the people who wrote the old guide lines will be held liable for all the climbing accidents since 2005?
  18. Just playing devils advocate here, but surely if all these people who have had accidents due being shown how to climb in the wrong way will be able to sue there training providers? Then the training people will sue those that write the guidelines. That's seems to be the way things get done nowadays.
  19. I know a Bulgarian guy who buys knackered BMW, vw and audi cars for the parts and ships the parts back home. He says that he makes a couple of grand from each car

    Down rating trucks

Before this truck I had a toyota dyna, it could carry 1.3 ton legally. That was great, but still often over loaded. When it was time to replace the dyna I decided I'd rather get a truck with the suspension and breaks to handle the work safely. I've got a 7.5t driver licence, but can't get an o licence for the yard and don't want to move yards. I also only do about couple of thousand miles in a busy year mostly around the little villages local to us. I haven't seen a copper for years so it doesn't seem to be such an issue.
