  1. Go for a power pack if you have the funds as highly versatile and have more balls then the electric options. I did have a petrol mounted wacker breaker worked well till the tough got going! If you wasnt going to be working in backgardens and limited access personally an old hydrovane compressor and breaker is the answer.
  2. i know they are probably one of the most expensive log splitters, but they are cracking bit of kit (no pun intended) we have a 20t pto one and we havent come across anything it wont split yet. there workmanship and quality is second to non.

  5. I come in the same OLD SCHOOL never rev an engine from cold let her warm up for a minute our two. We are now advised you no longer need to run the newer technolgy engines in but just taking a little care wont do any harm. You no longer see cars trundling around at 20mph with a piece of cardboard stuck on the back saying (RUNNING IN)

  10. I have a posch 20t splitter cannot fault it. they are pricey but im sure Jon will agree they are worth every penny

Hi Steve dont want to damper your thought but I have seen the state of chippers returned to A plant with chunks out the chipper blades from road sweepings and tree roots that some people seem to think are fine to put through a chipper!! Plus I can get a timberwolf towable chipper for around £500 a week with the service and back up with any breakdowns.
  12. Stick with your pick up mate and avoid all the extra red tape and hassle.

  14. Thanks for that I will have a look the only info i could find was in the USA thought there maybe somewhere closer to home. I wouldnt usually bother but I just fancy tidying it up for occasional use.
  15. Hi all I have an old Husky 285 which is in need of a few new parts mainly a chain brake, top cover and filler caps. I have had a browse round on google and drawn a blank does anybody know of any suppliers etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers Jamie
  16. You can also rollers with hydraulic take offs designed for jackhammers as good if not better than a power pack more power with the added bonus of being diesel. handy for abit of tarmacing to:001_smile:
  17. A mate who worked for the RAC told me if you put a litre of two stroke in the tank it will help put the lubrication back in that petrol lack's??. Anyone know if this is true?

  20. Go for the small plastic rods about 10mm ish they have more balls than the wire rope type
  21. Out of site out of mind is always a good start. There's to many people going round with exorcist heads!!!
  22. tachometers are a pain at times. I personally prefer them over a drivers book with a tacho its all there in black and white especially if involved in a accident

  24. Found ceramic hob cleaner effective. Nice and course but doesnt damage the glass.
