  1. Definitely not the Landrover I wouldnt get home for my rice pudding!!
  2. Do not entirely agree. What you need pal is a toyota
  3. I have tried it with paper bags similar to Mc Donalds carry out bags with the handles on the top. Pack the bags with chip sawdust and any leftovers from a days splitting. Fill to the top then two small staples in the top of bag to seal chuck that in the stove on top of a couple of logs and burns a treat.
  4. We have use of a barn to store logs but cannot totally fill it else machinery would have to stand outside. Im currently considering vented bags but at £5 pound a pop im undecided. The IBC crates may be well worth it depending on price as they would stack very well. Are vented bags really worth it as crates would wear alot better.
  5. Just use a normal padlock and wire the container up to the mains electric that seems to do the trick!
  6. Was with pet plan (2 dogs 1 horse) filed claim for horse's vet fees didnt want to know. These insurance companies are all the same but there very good at snatching your money. Now we have the dogs with tesco and the horse with the NFU.
  7. I prefer the hilux compared to Landrovers and any other 4x4 pick. But im not saying there the best just had plenty of hassle free motoring from a Toyota
  8. Have a look at the Posch range they are expensive but im glad I paid that bit extra. Each to there own I just was a bit flush at the time but that didnt last long!!!
  9. I would rather push my Hi-Lux.........than drive a Land Rover!
  10. Dont know about anybody else but im not keen on vehicle repairs "Thats why I drive a hilux not a landrover":001_tt2:
  11. No I wouldnt but I think there is very little deterent.
  12. If you get way with running on cherry for long enough the saving will outweigh the fine.
  13. I do remember 7+ year ago we was cutting very large poplar in big quantitys. Pilkington was the buyer they were using it for glass transportation because of the soft cushioning quailties.
  14. They say jesus saves: Maybe but not on my wages!!
  15. Ive came across plenty of slow payers out there and travellers are no way near the top of the list. Big companys are some of worst for payment!. When you say "There money is everybody elses" where does yours come from do you not work for the public our any kind off business to get your money because thats where mine comes from.
  16. Surely there money is as good as anybody elses its all work and helps pay the bills. But be carefull with the payment (half the money when half the jobs complete) reminder on completion. Make sure you establish which one of the travellers you are working for and just double check all the work being carried out is above board with local authoritys.
  17. Hi all are we all making the most of the long awaited cold weather. Never thought it was going to happen. I know its been a rough time for sum but maybe now will the last chance to make some £££££££££'s:thumbup:
  18. I do realise that a van on long term hire can be around the£200 mark per week. For that price and you was real busy its not worth owning your own especially if you was knocking up the miles. When you take in to considreration the wear and tear, running costs, tax and insurance £50 a day doesnt seem brilliant. You acn go and buy a cheap van for £1500 but would you feel confident subbing it out and running it down the motorway.
  19. Hi all, £50 a day sounds cheap to me. Bear in mind if your work vehicle was of the road for the day you would loose a site more than 50 quid. sometimes you dont realise how much you take them for granted I always try to keep on top of maintanence etc. I would off thought a pick up working and towing has to be worth 80 sheets all day long.
  20. Gone crackers again put a few extra flyers up and the dog and bone is red hot. Had enough of driving the lorry this week so I have put her in the stable for the weekend. My brother offered to do the delivery's this weekend to give me a break.
  21. Cant say i agee with you more. we once slipped into the discovery trap, we soon discorvered they are not that brilliant. On another note i think scrap is a pretty good price at the minute
  22. Dont go to OTT always looks cheap and tacky.
  23. Old tractors at auctions and shows fetch telephone numbers!! Stick to word of mouth usually get a better deal. But still nice to have a nose round I do like vintage shows and steam rally's:001_smile:
