  1. Fortunately there are no end of ambulance chasing lawyers to help them see the error of their ways.
  2. Ah, there's the good old Arbtalk community spirit.
  3. China makes stuff to a price. If you want them to make a decent one, they can do it. If you want junk, they will make that as well.
  4. Best place today, mate. I've got a couple of errands to run then it's home with the kettle on.
  5. Lucky you. I'm home today but on a nice slope tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too skiddy.
  6. Don't go getting ideas.
  7. Light crap that isn't settling over in Maldon. I'm guessing you are more inland.
  8. They also look at the pattern of work. If somebody works for you the same days every week then they are a part-time employee as far as HMRC are concerned.
  9. Should be collecting this at the weekend.
  10. AFAIK, they teach Danish Pie rather than Split Level now on the course.
  11. Getting mixed up with your Penn multipliers.
  12. I'll have to nip down to Thundersley to pick it up first.
  13. I can do that for you, but you will also have to wait until summer.
  14. More of the real workers ie the groundies.
  15. I've got some spare days in the diary for the next few weeks which I need to fill. I hold CS30 & 31, EFAW and a clean, pre-97 driving licence. I have my own saws, light rigging gear etc and have 5 years experience of the various aspects of our business. I am as happy planting as I am cutting and I get on with the job without needing to be chased. I fit easily into teams and am good with difficult customers and members of the public. If you need an extra body for bigger jobs, pm me or call on 07739 556764.
  16. Snow and ice are 2 different surfaces. Ice needs sticky tyres but snow needs chunkier treads like mud.
  17. I don't have the first saw I had (little Husky 236) but my other half's dad has it so it's still in the family.
  18. Here's the pics I got before the battery died on me.
  19. Works for me if you don't mind doing it.
  20. I took a Sumac down in my parents' garden last year. There are a couple of bits about 6-8" in diameter ( 1x18", 1x24"), 3 bits about 4-6" in diameter around 24" long and some other small bits of branch wood. I will upload some pictures when my camera is recharged. The wood is currently in Thundersley in Essex but I can bring it up to Maldon for collection if easier. No idea what it's worth so offers please. Collection only.
  21. Assuming you yourself are VAT registered, 5% if they are going to be processing for their own use solely ('the end-user'), full rate to anybody else.
  22. I'm a free-lance groundie in Essex and my day rate is £100 for me, saws and fuel with added extras a little bit more. I've just come back into it after 2 years estate management and I notice that people are quite happy with that now whereas a few years ago there were the odd intakes of breath.
  23. I've worked with Mick in the past. Nothing wrong with his work.
