  1. Take it steady, mate.
  2. [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  3. If it's there when you go to look at the job, make sure you put in the quote that it is all to be cleared up before you start work.
  4. Get well soon, Sean.
  5. The ad says to pm him.
  6. Much as it would pain me, I would have to give him the money agreed.
  7. I was actually thinking of your living room/garage
  8. Just wait until Geoff gets on this thread.
  9. Trust me, it's easy. +1,-1 is all you need.
  10. That's the one.
  11. There was a guy on here who did/does holiday lets in Yurts. Can't remember who it was though.
  12. The packaging was a close imitation of the Oregon mountains and trees logo, but the mountain was missing.
  13. No, it was a fake. Ask Les Cork if you don't believe me.
  14. Hang in there, baby.
  15. Brand new 357XP which was (and still is) oiling fine and I had to adjust the chain after 30 seconds of use. I didn't even get close to finishing cutting one length of timber before the new chain was FUBAR.
  16. Did they realise it was broken down? The video I posted earlier in the thread shows ram raiders taking a fully mobile vehicle in the same way.
  17. These ones bloody did.
  18. I don't think it's worth quoting for the rest, tbh. They have shown themselves to be underhand enough that I expect they are the type of client to take your quote and use it as a bargaining tool to get a cheaper price elsewhere.
  19. I had a problem with something similar a few years ago when I had a couple of Oregon chains from Ebay which stretched beyond the point of adjustment very quickly after being fitted. They turned out to be fake, which the guy from Oregon was very interested in. It's only a thought, but are your chains definitely genuine?
  20. If it works, stick with it.
  21. I suspect you will have problems with lack of air flow there, Caleb. I would suggest a layer of pallets on the floor then another line or two of pallets through the middle to reduce the chance of logs rotting in the pile.
  22. I wouldn't bother pursuing the breach of contract as the rewards v hassle ratio doesn't balance out. It's worth keeping up your sleeve if they get silly when you tell them that you will only be doing the other trees now if they accept a quote from you for the work. If they accept your quote then do it as a normal paying job. If they don't, let somebody else do it for peanuts.
  23. Walk away, unless you can blag having the wood that has been felled already by the other cutter. You have no obligation as any contract you might have had has been unilaterally altered by the charity so if they get snotty you should mention breach of contract to watch them squirm.
