  1. Here's the pics I got before the battery died on me.
  2. Works for me if you don't mind doing it.
  3. I took a Sumac down in my parents' garden last year. There are a couple of bits about 6-8" in diameter ( 1x18", 1x24"), 3 bits about 4-6" in diameter around 24" long and some other small bits of branch wood. I will upload some pictures when my camera is recharged. The wood is currently in Thundersley in Essex but I can bring it up to Maldon for collection if easier. No idea what it's worth so offers please. Collection only.
  4. Assuming you yourself are VAT registered, 5% if they are going to be processing for their own use solely ('the end-user'), full rate to anybody else.
  5. I'm a free-lance groundie in Essex and my day rate is £100 for me, saws and fuel with added extras a little bit more. I've just come back into it after 2 years estate management and I notice that people are quite happy with that now whereas a few years ago there were the odd intakes of breath.
  6. I've worked with Mick in the past. Nothing wrong with his work.
  7. Bats possibly too.
  8. I always thought a Lumbersexual was somebody who took tree-hugging just that bit too far.
  9. If he's a mate, he won't want to see you out of pocket over it and will pay a fair price. If he doesn't offer to do that, he's no mate so you shouldn't think twice about upsetting him by asking.
  10. Sorry to come back to religion, but I think it's as unfair to generalise that all followers of Islam are fundamentalist murderers or oppressors of women as to say all Catholic clergy are paedophiles. I really don't like organised religion of any brand (if you look at page one you will see it was my choice) but it is wrong to classify all the followers of any one religion as bad and another good. Let's face it, any credo that is based on an imaginary friend is bound to attract a certain amount of nutters who are prepared to twist ideology so far as to justify their own horrendous desires to subjugate through terror. As to saying Islam is hundreds of years behind Christianity, that is ridiculous. The behaviour seen in Paris or what ISIS, IS or whatever the **** they are called now do in the Middle East is hundreds of years behind the evolution of Humanity, not Christianity, but then to my eyes so is the behaviour of the KKK or the bombing of abortion clinics. Would you class the KKK as the same as the Boys Brigade? Why not, they're both Christian organisations who have the Bible as their holy book? With regard to the contents of the relevant holy scripts, how many people in the media quoting chapter and verse have read it for themselves in the original language? Consider this; How many times have you peed yourself laughing at a translating error in an operating manual or the like? When one language is translated to another, the original message can be completely lost very easily just as the tone of a message can be lost without the benefit of inflection of speech lost with the written word. What I think it comes down to is a certain percentage of the world's population want to be ****s to the rest of us, just the same as others want to do good to improve other peoples' lives. Take Anders Breivik who isn't a Muslim. He is in fact violently anti-Islamic. He killed 77 and wounded hundreds, mainly children, when he attacked Government buildings and a Norwegian Labour Party camp yet no relevance was drawn to his religious leanings as being a cause. He was a psychopath, the individuals who kill in the name of Islam are psychopaths, as is anyone else who kills or seeks to control with terror in the name of a religion or any other belief. Let's start a separate religion for psychopaths, give them Mein Kampf as their scripture and make it easier to target them, rather than employing the scatter gun approach employed by the media which harms more innocent people than guilty and serves to create divisions through society. All organised religions need to get their respective houses in order, not just Islam, and people have to work together to drive out the bad elements in society. Anyway, rant over and I hope you all have a good 'rest of the weekend'.
  11. Likewise, I would never delude myself to think I could fix what people far better could not. My more modest aim is to point out that the actions of a perverse and evil minority should not result in a large percentage of the world's population being consigned to Room 101. Anyway, past my bedtime now so let's do as you suggest and agree to disagree. Given the fact that we have remained perfectly polite to each other, I'm not entirely convinced that this is an Arbtalk thread.
  12. 7/10 but still a match for my schoolboy french.
  13. My rule is similar. I never blame the many for the actions of the few.
  14. Ces tous les M qui faites tous les mals chose dans le monde plus que ces tous les C?
  15. Nous sommes tous Charlie mais on doit penser avant de parler.
  16. Organised religion
  17. I was given an excellent tip or two when I did mine. When you do your felling cuts, to get the saw level practise with a cup of water sat on your bar to show if you are truly level. To get the bottom sink cut or back cut level, if you get the trigger where only your thumb will operate it, the handle will push down slightly under the heel of your hand and level you up both ways. Crap description I know but your instructor will show you what I mean. Good luck!
  18. :001_tt2:
  19. Was it on Look East? I saw the trailer but missed the item.
  20. Hope you were in the water at the time so nobody noticed.
  21. A Buddhist once bought a newspaper from me and paid with a £10 note. When he complained that I hadn't given him the left over money back, I told him that change must come from within.
  22. Their phone line, their karmic follow through.
